I was planning on swinging by the venue today to pick up tickets and avoid the online fee, but it is kinda shitty out, so I shall see how it goes. If you need any help or anything I actually have the day off.
Awesome it will be great to see you again!!! I think we've got a crew of 10+ people coming so we should be good on help but I'll definitely keep in touch if we do. The hardest thing for me is going to be deciding where to eat at 2am after we play. I'm just glad that we actually get to use our own gear at this show, the last show you saw us at it wasn't our gear and the venue was run like shit. this time should be completely different.

Skip, you rule. You hate people so much, you're willing to discredit all human progress, its awesome.
Hahaha that venue was hilarious. Random bands that did not match at all. And of course the greatest band ever Easy Company. But I got to meet you and Brett. It will be good to hear you guys with the full set up. And if you are looking for food then you are in a good spot. Williamsburg has a shit ton of places.
Yeah I will never play that venue again, its an oversized open mic in my opinion. Oh god that band was horrid.... It was awesome meeting both of you there though, twas a good night.
As far as food I have a feeling I'm gonna be craving some mean asian dumplings at 2am, shouldn't be too hard to scratch that itch hopefully.

theres pizza and falafel by the train entrance always open on n7th and bedford the falafel is bangin say hi to the lowdown dirties for me not sure what kinda crowd the turkeys neck draws now but they got a pool table a decent fight now and again and to-go beers with a straw if you wanna unwind in the park have fun dude wish i could be down there but my gfs b-day plans changed ill probly be watchin spartacus all night
I actually haven't had any dumplings since I moved here, so I'm sorry I can't recommend any specific place. I've just heard of some places in southern brooklyn where there is a large Chinese population that I have been meaning to check out. But I don't think they are open at 2am.
The falafel by the train is Oasis. It is killer and my bandmate loves them and wants to eat there all the time.
Going back a couple pages, I don't really get that Vest metal joke thing. Some of it seemed doomy some of it seemed like just a modern take on heavy metal Iron maiden, judas priest style. It is just people trying to do something with a different take. It is like any movement where you have people jump on because they think it is the cool thing while others are doing something neat with it.
misterstomach wrote:According to EQD, the two versions are identical other than the box, so don't worry about that. I leave mine always on and it's awesome. Doesn't muddy up palm muting at all. I leave the attack at about 11 o'clock. Gives some clarity to the chugga chugga and the pick attack before the reverb blooms. Pretty subtle, but helps a lot when working with dirt. Not to mention it just sounds great with dirt anyway.
That is what I was thinking because I couldn't find anything on the EQD website to confirm anything being different. I've been messing around with the attack and I settled on it at 10 or 11 o clock too. Sounds really great right there. I have the depth at 9 and the dwell at 11. I'm sure once I get to the space it will change with the band setting but so far I really dig the Ghost Echo.
Well, everybody pack it up and go home. Shannon just won the doom room.

That amp looks badass, especially in that stack.
Almost done recording a track that will be on a split with a badass band from Philly called Repellers. If you hasn't heard them before you can check them out athttp://repellers.bandcamp.com.
Got home from a 24 shift of running bullshit calls all day and night and found this waiting on me:
FUCK A NAP!!! How do you guys with Ghost Echos set yours? I'm hoping that I can have it on as an all the time pedal but still be able to get nice tight palm mutes when I need to.
Step one: Put the knobs in any position. Step two: Win.
And Jamie said both versions are identical, he just decided to put in in a small box because it would fit.

I would come to the show skip.... but i never go to shows in New york. I actually avoid new york as much as possible. especially driving in. I'll wait til you play philly.
And I had a ghost echo for a while. It was never really my thing though, oddly. One of those "justs didn't work when i played it" moments because the kid i sold it to makes it sound awesome.
