So I have the Tee Pee Art Of Self Defense and the 7".
Does the Southern Lord remaster sound different? Or is it like the Dopesmoker remaster--quieter drums and bass, and basically just 'remastered' because they don't want to say "we'd like to keep it in print'?

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Here's a live rig pic from this weekend. I'm not used to playing outside with the sun on your pedalboards. LED's are not easy to see or read in direct sunlight.... so I made a makeshift pedalboard cover out of my headcase and a pedalboard case
Thinking of turning a crosswalk sign I found into a bent metal cover for outdoor gigs during the day.

Anybody got any better ideas for pedalboard sun shades? or have I stumbled onto a great idea for a new product?

Dude, sunlight is the destroyer of world when it comes to daytime gigs. Part of the reason I stopped making sounds loudly with so many effects.

Yes, yes it is..... Really I only use like 5 effects on my guitar board, but it was still too bright to read any of the LCD screens on my timeline or space... The worst was actually my big spider on my bass board. I could not tell by looking if it was on or not, at all, even covering it with my hand it was near impossible to tell. My Dunwich's though I could tell were on (they're blindingly bright in the dark), the thing is they are both always on

They're all most too bright in the dark, but damn I'm glad they're that bright now!
Still pondering the best way to make a sunshade that will effectively block out the sun but still allow you to hit the back row of pedals. Then it needs to be able to fold up.... I've got the skeleton of an idea, I just gotta flesh it out.

You can always muffle them for dark play using a small piece of wax paper to dull it and disperse the light.

If you make the sunshade tall then it could be a sign too. I'm picturing something like a half tent that is kinda tall and has foldable sides incase the sun is coming from there. Of course it could look kinda ridiculous if it is too big.

There's a thing called the "stomp the sun" as a little pedal - mounted shade item.
Looks pretty nifty, though you could probably fairly easily make something similar for less.

Now that I've seen that they help during the day, I don't care how bright they are at night.

It could possibly be used as a sign, there would definitely be room. And yeah I'm definitely considering how to make sides to it as well.
The current idea is something shaped like this where the pedal board would sit on the bottom shelf: (ignore the periods, their necessary to make the ascii line up)
..----------
/
\
..----------
All the joints would be on hinges that go from full closed to open 240 degrees. That way it would fold in half in between the / \ and then when it opens all the hinges together puts the top and bottom pieces parallel without needing much reinforcement. I will probably use aluminum to keep weight down and put as little stress on the hinges as possible. Then I would make the sides either hinged on the sides of the top so they fold in with the whole assembly or stick on with 90 degree bends and velcro.

Thats close to what i was thinking but it takes up a lot of vertical room so it wouldnt fit in my pedal board case, and it only covers one pedal and one size pedal. It wouldn't work for my timeline or space. Thanks for the heads up though!!!

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
So I've got one of these tele bridges coming in:

Gonna slap it on the tele custom in my avatar so I can retain the original look but have individual adjustment of string intonation. I love the ashtray style bridges but they usually only come in 3 saddle which doesnt work for drop tunings, and most of the 6 saddle bridges are the flat bridge plate style that I don't like.
Now I just have to decide what tuning I'm gonna put it in, thinking either C standard or Drop A#. Or just going full doom and doing straight Drop A.
Need to decide this first so I can then decide what strings to go with. But I'm uncertain since this will mainly be for jamming at home and my solo project.
I also have another blank Callaham tele bridge coming in from MEC to put on my white telemaster that he built.
It's gonna be a busy few weeks getting all my guitars finishing touches completed finally.

Low A standard.
But only because I want a bass in low A. I just went down to D standard for the first time in, uh, forever. I used to be C or E. D was never low enough for when I wanted to Sab. Now I don't want to Sab as much as go a little bit lower.
Anyway, this made me giggle:

Anyway, this made me giggle:
Sweden’s Witchcraft (having “Witch” in your band name = x10 Vest Metal Scene Points). Witchcraft clearly splurged for very fancy vests for their photo shoot which is somewhat indicative of their music: where most Vest Metal bands opt to go lo-fi, Witchcraft’s new song “It’s Not Because Of You” is quite spiffy production-wise. Witchcraft are kinda like the Subaru of Vest Metal; a very nice car presented in a down-to-earth “for the people” shell, extremely popular in places like Portland, OR and the semi-rural backroads of New England.
Vest Metal comes in all shapes and sizes, too. Doom Vest Metal seems to be gaining traction of late, especially when female-fronted. Some of these bands include Witch Mountain (Profound Lore is all over this shiz, duh!), Blood Ceremony (Metal Blade, see above) and Royal Thunder (Relapse). Every label wants in on the Doom Vest Metal party!
