I like that colour, but the red one with the plain black pickups looks weird to me; kinda cheap and tacky almost. The SG, in my opinion, needs a pickguard and more detail on it to break it up.

We must be twins. I hate red (red guitars are OK as long as the wood grain shows through and it isn't candy apple red) and don't own any red clothes aside from a Quiet Hands tshirt.
And like Angry Goldfish said before, the red SG looks tacky. It looks even worse in person and felt cheap too. I'd rock the fuck out of one of the other finishes though.

Yeah guys, candy apple red blows. I love that red wine stain that Gibson used to do though. I made an el cheapo LP once that I stained half red half black Japan and it looked the tits. Pity I can't build a player. Those dark natural finishes those sgs come in though are pretty sweet. I loved the one you posted there Ryan, but I was a little let down at the chrome hardware. That photo makes it look black, which is way cooler.
I can't stand gold. White gold is ok. Women that wear yellow gold instantly set of my bitch alert radar. Not sure why.

Interesting, I'll have to watch ebay for some of those pickups on the cheaps, I have a soft spot for black covered humbuckers ala Iommi p/u's. I could use a low output (in comparison to the iommi in the bridge) neck pickup for my flying V.
