Heads up DIY and pedal builders
Hi all,
builder PSA
I have spent the last month + waiting for a refund or materials from a
distributor that I used semi-regularly for years.
We are currently in a claim at paypal.
Effects is the first word in their title. If there is more than one let me know.
I don't want anyone having the same issues and thier buisness impacted. Simple as that.
Please use email instead of PM's for info inquiries.

Re: Heads up DIY and pedal builders
So are you going to tell us exactly what the problem is, or should we guess? Are you in the right, or are they? We have no way of knowing. You won't even tell us the name of the company, let alone the details of the situation.
It would seem that anyone pushing a boycott should describe their reasons in detail if they want credibility.
It appears as though this post isn't a warning, but more of a way to try to use public pressure to force a company to rectify a situation.
Name and shame, or keep it to yourself, eh?

First sentance Mike.
"I have spent the last month + waiting for a refund or materials" from a
distributor that I used semi-regularly for years.
As far as the name, If you build, you know who it is and naming them in full might be a violation of forum rules.
As far as me posting this to resolve my dispute, I've taken legal steps to do that and I have no idea if he/they read here or anywhere else.
But please feel free to use your cinicism and shun friendly advice.

Re: Heads up DIY and pedal builders
Yeah, but why? You don't say.
Did they ship an order, but it never arrived? Did returned merchandise never make it back, or outside of a required timeframe, so a replacement wasn't sent and a refund wasn't granted? Was there disagreement about a defective or damaged order? Was it a special order gone wrong? Was the order out of stock but you were still charged? Were you given the opportunity to wait, or get a refund? Only you know.
Just saying, "I have spent the last month + waiting for a refund or materials from a distributor that I used semi-regularly for years" doesn't really tell us anything, other than you've become frustrated enough to start a complaint topic on a forum where you admittedly don't participate enough to know the rules.
If we all stopped doing business with a company the first time someone felt wronged, we would not be able to do business with anyone. I have had problems of varying degree with PPP, Mouser, Tayda, Futurlec, etc. I've seen people who have had problems with Mammoth. Should we not buy from these companies too?
Would you want someone to give your business a negative recommendation, but not back it up with details? If someone posted what you did, but about your business, do you think people should blindly trust that person and not patronize your business?
BTW, feel free to attack my "cynicism" all you want. All I did was ask reasonable questions that no one with credibility would mind answering. You are the one claiming you have been wronged, so fill us in on the details so we can decide for ourselves. That is exactly what happened in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=188&t=33418.
Or attack me, whatever is easiest for you.

Re: Heads up DIY and pedal builders
I paid for items. Did not recieve them.
There is no proof of shipment or tracking beyond a label being generated.
after 3 weeks, I asked for a refund. Seller claimed, Just shipped this morning.
Great, can I have the tracking? I ask. No reply. 7 days passes. No tracking, no merch.
Feel free to purchase from them as you will.

Damn, I still don't know who it is. It's hard to hear the adults from this little plastic table.
Anyway, naming people isn't a violation of forum rules, this isn't fucking TGP, but we expect transparency.

Hmm, I know Mammoth, I know PPP, I know SmallBear, ... I don't know a supplier that starts with "effects". Can you just say who it is? There's no rules against outing shitty dealers here.

It could be that the supplier has a Connection in some way to Effects.

Hah. If that's true, then I know who it is. I've purchase from him before and had great results.
