You're in LA?

Change city accordingly if I'm wrong...

How is it that I'm in one of the most obese states in the nation, yet I still miss out on half of the good chains?

I never really eat fast food unless we're on a long trip, so I'm not up to date on what's good. Though a lot of fast food is good and gross at the same time.

But on the road, I like to hit those Long John Silvers + A&W combos...Popeye's...
And Five Guys is great any time.

Most of my favorites are more regional chains, and not on the west coast...Pudgies, Moe's...

I don't know if there are any Rita's over there, but gelato + Italian ice is good.

Fast food is not what I would be going for. Whenever we travel to new city I like to look up the local best of lists. We've found some awesome places doing that. You get a better taste of regional foods that way as well. When I have to fast food I like wendy's but will always try for something unique and better.

You just nailed it In-and-Out is one of the few fast food locations that people talk about all over the states. There are a zillion other small mom and pop places that are scattered about. IMO does not get any better than In-and-Out

If your in Cali, Look out for a white castle

My favorite fast food place was always Chick-Fil-A. But now that I know they're such hateful ragecunts, I've been avoiding them. It's so hard though ...

Ding ding ding!
Regional/specialty ethnic dishes are where it's at. Call ahead, place order for pickup...boom, fast food...made fresh, to order. Also keeps money in the community.

Yeah, I'm going to be that guy and say that franchise "food" is barely edible, cheap junk only suitable for consumption if you're literally starving.

I'm not really a burger guy...but if I want one without making it myself, I'll sooner go to a diner than some corporate pyramid scheme with a drive-through.
Same goes for the sandwich places...just about any *real* deli destroys them.

My favorite types of *fast food* are the stuff you'll see on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives with bleach-hair, backwards sunglasses Guy.

As for Wendy's... I wonder what the cute, spunky redhead (from the commercials) would look like if she really ate [it] for lunch every day.
Me thinks it would be closer to the real Wendy.

Ha, I'm such a hater when sick...yeah...when sick... :snax:

I'll agree with you that most local deli's will kill any chain sandwich place. But my experience when it comes to burgers is completely opposite to yours. Most local diners I've been to basically just make the standard frozen beef patties you get at the food store. They suck.

For burgers, I like Fuddruckers. Not quite fast food, but it's a pretty big chain.
