least the wife doesnt mind that im a weirdo. . . :excellent:

I feel so ashamed, but around four years ago I physically creeped on a girl at a Serj Tankian concert. I was really drunk, really depressed, and really obnoxious the whole evening, but thankfully I did nothing overly serious. To this day I wish I could find her and apologise. It's one of my biggest regrets. Heavy for a Tuesday morning/afternoon, but yeah. I gotta get it out there.

Good thing cuz I just found a Fender Custom Shop Bass VI in Sonic Blue that I had to have.

Then I traded my Maton for that Bass VI straight up, a total steal on my end. Psyched!

Damn, that Maton was killer looking. Hopefully you'll like the Fender even more.

Iommic Pope wrote:I shouldn't drink, but I do. I don't drink anywhere near as much as I used to. I'm sick of hangovers kicking my arse and making me waste days off. Plus it's never pleasant having to wake up after drinking to small children. It's just not what you want to be doing, especially when the wife punishes you by putting you on nappy duties. Also why I don't smoke that much anymore either. That and my wallet says no.

I like a few drinks now though, plus I'm at that age where I can draw a line and am able to afford beer that isn't shit if want a couple of nice ones. Hoegaarden rules my world! Ooh, and it's getting colder, so monteith's black beer will be consumed! :doom:

That's another thing, bog standard beer just doesn't taste that good to me any more. As my tastes have evolved and I've grown more acute, the crap you find at the local off-license or even the supermarket just doesn't interest me any more. I'm trying to find the right stuff and enjoy it thoroughly over a long period of time.

Hrm. Different strokes/folks.

Alcohol is just something I enjoy. I drink daily, a glass of wine or a small pour of bourbon with my partner each night to wind down from school/teaching. I don't smoke anymore, so it's a nice ritual.

Of course, I have been known to tie one on from time to time and get mighty wild. Like I said, to each her/his own!

My old band mates and good friends from the UK were like that. They'd have a can or two while watching the soap operas, just to relax and wind down after a day of work. It's totally cool with me.

Iommic Pope wrote:Yeah I've never been able to drink wine. I can neck champers though, if its going.
Love bourbon. Have recently got into tequila with ginger beer and lime. Is awesome time. Scotch is my instant vomit drink. That and milk based stuff.
:ilw: very nice.

I'm OK with wine as long as I pace myself and respect my limits. I haven't had tequila in years, and whiskey is OK as long as I have no more than five shots. It becomes too pricey to drink more than that, anyway, unless I'm drinking Bushmills.

Hey Jason! (dazedbyday) What kind of 7 string hollowbody is that your rocking? It looks sweet and I've been considering a 7 string instead of an 8 string lately (so I can tune to drop F, well C standard on the top 6 with a low F on the low string) and a hollowbody could be pretty sick. I saw something similar to yours made by maestro and it was relatively cheap (like 300$ shipped) so I was wondering your thoughts.

Well if you wanna get "scientific" we are Star Dust, but that logical reasoning doesn't make for good laughs in this situation.

so i got the Blackout Effectors Sibling phaser, and had my first play with it last night...if any one is interested, here's what i think of it:

It is very subtle at the low depth and rate settings and gives you a lot of range which is really nice for a small amount of effect. With reverb and delay on clean you can get some really nice atmospheric sounds. That's all with the speed set to slow, but on those same settings you can set the speed to fast, and you get into univibe type tones, not exactly there, but in the neighborhood but a little different. Increasing the depth and rate on slow setting allows you to really get some chewy phase, and with some gain on it you start getting really good solo tones without the 80's effect, if that makes sense. The added bonus of this is that on fast settings you can also start using it as a Ring Modulator of sorts, and with all the depth and rate rolled off and level up, you get a nice clean boost too.

Overall, given i really dislike the traditional 80's phaser type sounds that a lot metal and hard rock guitarists used, this pedal is really perfect for me. But if you want those phase sounds then i would stay away from this pedal.

hope this helps...

Thanks for that. I'll probably pass on one myself. My phaser requirements include tap-tempo and sub-divisions, so I'm left with only two or three phasers to choose from, and I have one of them already. For now I'm keen on picking up a dedicated vibe pedal. Glad you like it anyway!

Me, too!

And there is much better bourbon in the $45 range than Bulleit 10 Year. Look into the E.H. Taylor Small Batch. Ought to be right around $40 dollars and it's exquisite. If you're a rye fan, find a bottle of Willet Rye for around the same price. If you're a rye fan on a budget, find a bottle of Rittenhouse for around $20.
God, I love American whiskey. Except for Tennessee Whiskey, that is.

Virgin are pretty good, especially because they have the Optic shit. BT are also solid. Don't go with a mobile network like Orange, and I can't really say much about Sky, except I think you need to buy into a whole TV package too.

I'd assume that we'd get *reasonably* similar services, since both are moderately large cities in the south.
