Paypal Claims - How long should I wait?

Post by Twangasaurus »

Ugh, so...
I bought a little Fender Mustang Mini so I could screw around on my back porch in the afternoon when I get home from work/uni and after 5 weeks I have nothin'. So I contact the store via email and after no reply I give them a ring and get the answering machine so I leave a message. After waiting another couple of day I file a dispute with paypal and the wankers still haven't even bothered to reply to me. I'm starting to lose my patience and just want my money back and so my question is thus: should I wait until the end of the week or just go ahead and file a claim? I've never had to do this before and I don't know the etiquette.

Go ahead and do it, I had the same situation with an overseas record store that didn't bother to communicate at all when my order got lost.
If there's evidence of you attempting to reach them and they won't reply you're pretty much guaranteed to get your money back within a week or so.

Yeah, I had a similar experience actually getting someone on the phone at Paypal who was super helpful when the PRS I paid for never showed up...there is a window after which you lose the ability to file a claim if I remember right, so don't wait. I would say 5 weeks and not even a REPLY...don't wait.
Special low-frequency version.
