but seriously. my parents picked the private school they did because they had computers and taught basic programming and typing and all in elementary. my dad's been a software engineer forevvvvverrrr, worked in it since before the level of tech we're at became ubiquitous. and always told mawmz "everybody's going to have a computer in their home in 15 years". she would laugh, pat him on the head, tell him that was silly. what can you DO with a computer? this WAS in the nascent internet days..... hard to find bbs's ruled the day........

but do kids learn to actually type? like home row hovering, good posture, able to type without watching their fingies? or do most people do a Fast Because I Do It All The Time hunt and peck?

yah. i'm up in the 100/120 wpm range. i think i tested around 120 last time i was in a job where you needed to score well for promotions. been awhillllllllllllllle. lulz. i'd say i type twice as much now as i ever did when it was required at work, but i've always dabbled in programming and electro musics so i used to spend more time on the computer doing creative stuff than i do now.

hah. i get thumb fatigue in my right thumb if i'm on my phone too much in a day. i'm hoping it's just tired muscles. never hearts like RSI stuff does, just gets tired. if i take a minute and stretch it feels fine. ODD.
