New Evil Dead gave me a sad

the one scene. that Sam Raimi says he hates from ED1. was done better. or at least graphically enough that it was so much like my dreams it was scary.

but yeah. kinda shitty. super boring and predictable.

The trailer looked like a decent gorey horror flick, i'm going in not thinking of it as an 'Evil Dead' movie, I think it's probably the best way to go about it or else it'll just envoke rage.

Plus i'm pretty sure Raimi has now confirmed Evil Dead 4 will be written this summer which means... Bruce will be back.

When you say Cabin in the Woods do you mean that Whedon one or the original Raimi one? Cause I didn't think the Whedon one was all that after all the praise it seemed to get.

.... had a beat up version of Sam Raimi's Cutlass he puts in all of his movies, throwing David around in the basement OG ED style, the arm cutting offs....

so they WANTED it to feel like it was an ED movie. and it would have been meh with some neat visuals if it was just a movie. it's a weird balancing act, and i liked what they WANTED to do different as a remake, they just did it reallllllly poorly.

super predictable, not silly enough, just MEH.

also, Cabin In The Woods (WHEEEEEDON I WANT YOUR SEEEEEEED) is just..... perfect.

I looked up what he does, good enough for me, i'm sure with a few beers and a joint at home i'll enjoy the film as a typical modern horror, i'm not expecting much other than some cheap entertainment and tbh... I wasn't much a fan of Drag me to hell so this will probably be better for me.

Yeah I don't mind a bit of homage, seeing this wont spoil the originals for me, it'll just be what it is, a re-imagining, I like plenty of originals and there remakes, each having there own merits, sometimes the remake/re-imagining improving on the source material.

Silly enough? Evil dead 1 wasn't silly at all! And it's going to be predictable by now... after Evil Dead that entire idea has been recycled over and over for years by hundreds of films.

I dunno, maybe Cabin in the woods got bigged up too much, I love whedons other stuff but I just found it... a bit boring and the whole twist really didn't do much for me, I mean don't get me wrong, it was entertaining enough but i'd only give it a 6.5/10 probably.

yah. i have no problems with remakes or reimaginings. no way can they kill the love for things i adore. i mean, Lucas is a corpse fucking dirtbag and he's ruined the ACTUAL MOVIES i loved. fuckkkkkkerrrrrr.

it's not that it doesn't harken to the originals, or that it shits on the memory or anything. i can tell they like the source material and were trying. it's just that it's a boring movie. and i LURV horror films. all kinds. i even enjoy the Hostels. hell, i LIKE Hostel 2.

urm. Cabin is.... wonderful. the whole layers of love for the genre, poking fun at the genre whilst giving the predictability of a formula movie a fun explanation, the dialogue and situations.... it's not the BEST thing he's ever done (Firefly), but it's a beautiful movie. but i get some people didn't dig it as much as i do. yay opinions!

i don't know whether i like Drag Me To Hell or not. it kinda bothers me but then... then that fucking hankerchief comes along. and makes everything good again.

that's the thing though. it's really NOT a remake. there's like 3 or 4 main ideas/elements that are lifted from the originals, then they tell a completely new story.

sooooooo.... it COULD have been awesome. good story in The Cabin, Deadites and a Necronomicon. buuuuut i didn't like it.

if your friends are goofy, and down for bloody stuff, it can be maybe fun? 's got some cool scenes. just kinda a super mediocre movie.

i was thinkin about it, and that's what annoys me. it's really got potential to be a damn good movie. they accidentally setup really compelling stuff and then.... don't know what to do with it. when they show that one grrL is trying to kick Teh Drugz i thought cool, there will be some interesting parallels with the demon of addiction and actual demons and blurring the line of if it's in her head or real.... nooooops. there's one death scene that if they'd spent 5 minutes making me care about the character (or any character), would have been touching and sad the way they filmed it.

lol. and i'm not bummed because it's not Bruce Campbell Redux. i LIKE that they went with a different story.

damnit. now i want to see the movie that's in my head.
