Hey folks. If you are reading this, thanks for taking the time to check out my conundrum.
I have an original Maestro FZ-1, and the thing sounds killer. Sadly, the original housing is in rough shape and is so damn oversized. I am looking for suggestions on websites that sell nice blank pedal housings. I would really appreciate any suggestions. I have checked GGG, but they are somewhat limited.
Also, my second problem is that when the pedal's "Balance" control is dimed out (i.e. 100% wet fuzz signal) there is a slight volume drop. I know a guy who is very electronics savvy and said he could wire in a boost to alleviate the issue. Of course, he would wire so that it was separate from the original circuit (I think I would prefer running after the circuit in order to help maintain the nice splatteyness of the fuzz) in order to maintain the original tone of the pedal. I was thinking about buying a DIY super hard-on component kit for him to wire in. Any suggestions as to where I might find one of those and/or any other better boosting options.
Thanks a lot!!!
