counterbalancing heavy head stock?

I'm putting this here instead of in the nine string thread I started just to try and get some replies. The headstock is wayy tipsy because of the extra tuners. Anyone got some ideas about counter balancing this? Maybe an aluminum pickguard or something? Thanks!

Lead bar attached to the bottom of your strap???

Maybe a non slipping leather strap???

Hmmm. I have a leather strap for my baritone, which must be just a bit neck heavy, because it always bunches up my shirt all weird on the left side....

A) Drill a hole in the head of your guitar
B) Open up your guitar and place heavy objects in with the electronics
C) Double guitar strap to balance weight, these are real too, not a joke
D) Use a Coil Cable, those things are heavy

a bag of lead weights in the control cavity should help. you may also be able to relocate the strap to change where it balances

I would add some weights in the cavity except that it's already pretty jammed with pickup wires, etc.... I may look into mounting a metal pickguard or something.

If you don't have room to add stuff in the control cavity, you could still get in there and drill a hole...melt some lead BBs and pour it in there. Or slide a plumb bob or something in the hole and tape it off. Then it's removable.

I'd personally rather drill out some of the headstock (rather make the guitar lighter than heavier!), cap it and refinish, but it obviously not something you want to do to a nice guitar or one you might sell...

It's already pretty beat up. I converted a crappy pawn shop mockingbird into a nine string, so the headstock is already kinda mangled :lol:

but drilling it out sounds like it might look cool, too......

I'd move the strap on the butt of of the guitar higher wouldn't I?
