Putting a Killswitch Button in a guitar. Any tips?

Can anyone help me with advice for installing a killswitch button in my guitar?

I'm planning to do it to a Tele Squire 'cos it has a hollowed chamber under the scratchplate. It should allow for easy instalation with no gouging holes in my guitar to put it in.

Mostly, I need to know where I'd get a decent killswitch type button, and how I'd route it into my guitars wiring?

Any tips would be much appreciated?

If you mean a button that when pressed can kill the signal for as long as it's held down, there are a wide range of momentary pushbutton switches out there on the internet. If you were to wire the main signal output of your guitar through a momentary switch to earth, that should do the trick!

Yeah that's what I'm after. I found some links for installing a momentary button switch. They suggest a different wiring set-up between pick-ups and volume knobs but it gives a popping noise when used. I was thinking maybe the way you've suggested doing it might eliminate that problem. I might even just do it as a small box I can attatch to the guitar when I wanna use it then see if I use it enough to install one. Thanx for the tip, your way seems better than what I've read

That's more how I was hoping to do it. That's a much better diaphragm than the one that says wire it to volume pots.
