I got ableton with my first interface for free. tried reaper afterwards and it just wasn't the same. I've definately heard some great sounding stuff that was done with reaper and you cant beat the cost!

nick, you have any wah suggestions that wont make your low end disappear? I know tony's looking for a better option as well.

Skip, thanks again man. I'll definitely hit you up. Part of my problem is that I don't know what all I don't know. :p

Just going to briefly interrupt your conversation and say that the guy who gave me an earful the other night has apologised. He said he was clearing out his emails and realised that he completely misunderstood me and wasn't acting fairly. He apologised. I thought that was really cool. Although he was out of line, it takes balls to own up to that and say sorry.

And silverburst is just about the best thing ever. Green is horribly underused in guitars - if I ever have something custom made (which I won't) it will be a dark flaked out green  I'm actually tempted to pick up one of the Squier Jazzys and refinish it in green.

There's a guy here on ILF, univalve, who refinished a purple MIJ Mascis Jazzy with a super flake green sparkle. It's badass! I'll try and find a pic. :thumb:

No problem broham, I went to school for recording / live sound and I've recorded / mixed 5 full lengths and over a dozen EP's / demo's for bands. Not that I know everything (as I am the first to admit that I most certainly do not, and if anyone says they do walk away...) but I have learned quite a few tips and tricks along the way that aren't covered in tutorials or online lessons that make a subtle but big difference in final quality.
