Your studies seem to have done you well!

Hehe, I actually meant to direct that comment at Tristan, who says he studied Pop Music. But, yeah, there was probably no way to understand that.

Hi, everybody! Sorry I never saw this thread to properly introduce myself.

My name is Mark & I live in Minneapolis. I found ILF when I was researching some pedals & found it very positive & encouraging (less of the usual snobbery/purism found elsewhere, ahem) so I joined. I've long been a pedal junkie, but took a longtime off from buying new gear until fairly recently. Now I've flipped basically my entire pedal arsenal & got the bug again. I play in a psych/garage/spacerock/kraut/pop kinda band here in town. We're currently working on a new record & playing shows sporadically.

Thanks for the forum, I've learned a lot from reading yr posts.

Hi, I'm Mark

I like using pedals to overcompensate for my my lack of shredability, but I prefer to think of it as an artform

Just turned 50 and teach music at a public high school. Studied classical piano early on, but have been playing bass professionally for the last 20 or so. Thanks to a student introducing me to Russian Circles last year, I've become fascinated with overdrive and fuzz. So far the new board contains a Fuzzrocious BDPG, a BBE Soul Vibe, a ss/bs team awesome fuzz machine, an EQD Hoofreaper, a 3 Leaf Proton, a tc electronics tuner, Verellen Meatsmoke Preamp pedal and an incoming EQD Disaster Transport from Casavettes.

The Meatsmoke pre really put me into hyperdrive - I fell in love with it, even if I'll probably keep it is a standalone. I'm still a pedal newbie and eager to learn more.

I'm also a Talkbass veteran, and stop by The Last Bass Outpost and BABP from time to time. It's great to be here at ILF!

Oh cool! Thanks for listening, pal!
It's pretty sweet that ILF'ers know the fuzzless bands!

Teaching is life-long learning if you approach it that way. And Ben Verellen is Badass - I'm totally smellin' what he's steppin' in!

Hi all. This is my first post here! A friend(mysteriousj) has been telling me to check this forum out for a while. It's very cool! Looking forward to doing some reading.
I'm from Dunedin in New Zealand and have been making effects pedals for a over a few years now. Hoping to finish a few new designs in a short while. Can't get past prototyping these things, though.. Will post a link to one in the DIY effects section.

Cheers!

I'm steve ....
I'm just here for the fuzz....

I bought my first Big Muff in 1976 .... now I have a box full of fuzz pedals and somehow found myself here...
The fact that Stephen appears from nowhere, is sentenced to death in an emotional public trial without anyone interfering at all and is then altogether forgotten as if nothing happened, is already suspicious.

been posting the last few days... thought i'd intro myself here a bit.

Been playing guitar/bass/analog synths off and on for 20 years. I bought my first fuzz pedal around 1994-1995 and it was the sovtek green russian bubble font. I literally just sold it last week for a stupid amount of money to fund a BAT sarcophagus + spare, and I don't really regret it one bit. I have fits of bad GAS so i will fit in well here I think. I also love psych rock and noise and almost every flavor of stonery doom drone etc

Played a lot of industrial/punk/metal/pscyh in the 90s and took a long break from doing anything concrete (kids). I'm a hobbyist for sure at this point but I have fun playing in groups (guitar, bass, and or analog synths/noise) or live jamming with ppl who come over and my main shit is in my nick... https://soundcloud.com/unicorn-trap

doing all the crap myself is definitely time consuming but when in a groove i try to set a goal of a song a month. de-railed at the moment with soldering jacks and doom/sarcophagus/sabbath worship, but you get the idea :)

currently on the quest to fill my pt-3 board with goodness, already looking at phase 2 (drive pedal redundancy) before phase 1 is complete... so it goes.

Hello fellow fuzz lovers and heavy music fans.

yep i'm new here. so HI to everyone. I probably wont post real often or even say anything insightful or useful but oh well..

I've played guitar for about 13 years and have been rocking fuzz for at least 6 years. I've recently been digging a lot of stoner metal but i enjoy almost all music that I hear.

...cool thats enough of an introduction. :)
