Is a 6x12 worth lugging around?
Can't be much worse then an 8x10 right?

The 1960 sounds like a 1959 with less bass and better Volume adjustment. I liked it.

Can it be used on the sort of stages where you have a sound guy going "yeah, look guys, can we get a little less volume from the guitars on stage - I'll pump it up in the mix ok?". Or is it just stupid loud all the time?

The 1959 is kind of on/off: not much happening and when you have the volume knob a bit above 2 it has its full volume. Turning the volume knob up more just gives added overdrive - not more volume. The 1960 is way more useable in that aspect.
When my 1960 stopped working, i used the (vintage) 1959 of the studio for the recording. So i did a pretty good a/b-ing with these. The bass response of the 1959 was that intense, that it forced the plug out of the cab. So i stacked the empty drum bags behind my cab to avoid this...
I asume, the building parts and trannies of the 1959 are a bit better (in regards to the quality), hence the better bass response.

I paid 299 EUR for the 1960. Played it one year and got the money back. I'm a bit scared that Bugera, which is a german company that produces in China, was not able to repair it... I still play my Bugera bass amp and love it. But i'm not on the fence to get another one.

Right now i use my divided as my recording amp in my basement. I really love that amp - favorit amp ever. So it would be the best to afford another one for the practice space instead buying something else (I was thinking about Budda, Vox, an old Sunn, Marshall 1959 etc. but if i spend that much, another divided is not that far away...)

Staytrem bridge for my jag! Having a bridge that fits the neck radius properly means the action and intonation high on the neck are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better, which is awesome. The sound has changed in a way I'm not sure I like yet; it's like it's more compressed when I play hard and clean, but brighter with more harmonics which is good. And I think it sounds better with fuzz now if I'm not imagining the difference, which makes everything ok.

Ok, cool. It's been on my radar for a while but I'm concerned about not being able to turn it down to a useable volume for a smaller stage. Might pick one up anyway at some stage. Thanks for the help dude.

I've wanted a G&L since I played a Tribute model in Mansons, UK. The pickups were the coolest combination of P90 and Tele. The build was excellent as well considering how affordable they are, so it stands to reason the USA model would be even better. I really want the SC-2.



But I wish they came with a pickguard and a control panel like the original SC-1.
