Car Stereo...

Post by Jeff-7 »

So I had to go out and buy a car as my old one kicked the bucket... but the radio doesn't work. I thought I could live with it for a while but an hour of driving for work with no music blows. I need suggestions on a good stereo receiver, with the ability to plug in my iPhone or iPod a big plus. Was looking at: http://www.amazon.com/CDE-136BT-Alpine- ... roduct_top
But bluetooth seems to be kind of an afterthought with the Alpine receivers according to some users, certain heads work well with iphones but not androids and vice versa. Not sure if I'll be sticking with the iphone when my contract is up in June so this kind of worries me. Gimme your insights

Try Crutchfield. Pretty easy to select the options you want, good tech support if needed and stereos include a free wiring harness for your make/model that make it super easy to install...
Special low-frequency version.

Yeah the link from amazon was just to show what I'm thinking about. I'll look at Crutchfield, unfortunately I'll have to rewire to the speakers as everything currently runs through a fader control in the center console and it can't handle the power from an aftermarket receiver.

I have one that is brand new you can hook up your ipod that sat in a car that eventually got donated. I am pretty sure it still works PM me if your interested and we can make a deal. I play my ipod through a cassette deck like a boss.

I've got a JVC stereo that is Bluetooth equipped and plays CDs as well. It has a two USB jacks in the back and I have my iPod connected to it through my glove compartment. It also came with a microphone that I have mounted just behind my steering wheel. No visible wires anywhere.

I love it. It's made quite an improvement on sound. I need to upgrade my speakers someday.
