Re: Creative Blocks VS. the internet
this isnt the same thing but its a random inspiration kinda thing.
My amp went out the other day (t00bz >:\ ) and ive been using an amp I got for $25 a couple months ago and I'm just having a ton of fun with it. Like all my overdrive sound god awful through it, but I'm still trying to make it sound better through how I play and I'm just having fun and even getting some cool sounds out of a tone and volume knob plus the same on my guitar. Helps me find sounds in the pickups and sweet spots on all mah knobular things I haven't heard before

If you have a mac you can use Self Control or Leechblock if you are using Firefox.
I probably would have never made it through me senior of college without them.

Re: Creative Blocks VS. the internet
So, I spent a week "without" Internet. I had to make a couple of concessions: I need email for my tutoring job and I'm still waiting to hear back from some grad schools (so far one acceptance and two rejections). I also deleted chrome off my phone and hid the safari app as best I could.
Results: I was able to get through homework easier and faster. I had 10 sections of homework in three seperate math books last week and I was able to finish them with plenty of leisure time. I played with my music gear, didn't work on anything really, but I had fun playing and I was able to play for hours. I even had time to write my lady a love-letter.
So, I'm going to continue this on a slightly more lenient scale: social networks are allowed on Sunday nights (except Facebook, I've deactivated my account till I get done with this semester), and during the week I can use the Internet for research and email and shopping (nothing excessive, just if I'm actually looking for something I plan to buy at the moment, no planning out future purchases).
