They do soften up a bit after a while, but the padding is fantastic.
It's not thick, but it's effective.

I am willing to pay up to like 60 bucks for a nice strap that will last me. Vinyl is cool, too! I am going to go with a the royal blue/black strap. I don't need it to be a real wide strap because the 'stang is nice and light so 2'' will be fine for me. I could understand if you were holding an LP or a kramer to get the super wide cushy ones.

Hennessey strap locks go perfectly with Couch straps.
