Not too much out of there that I know of... Depending on where he is in the state he may be close enough to check out Chicago's or Louisville's music scenes though.

Chicago Music scene is bomb, shows are always happening. From shitty to amazing so you can find yourself giggling uncontrollably either way. This and a lot of our scene is skramz/power violence/hardcore/metal shit

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Pallbearers Single coil tele sounded thick and huge tonight. Wasn't sure how he was getting that tone. Answer=they all use a pharaoh
the drummer did bash his kit into submission and there was a bit of a pause, but he got it fixed fairly quickly. I hate to say this, but if they turned it down just a teeny bit, They'd sound a bit better. It got muddy at times and I know thats kinda what they're going for, but using the dirt they had I like to keep my amp on the verge of breakup before hitting it with the fuzz. With the amp allready getting into fuzz territory, adding dimed fuzz on top gets to where ya cant make out chord changes and shit, which is what I like about Pallbearer the most. That or they need some 200 watt dunwich amps to get what they are going for
Chatted with the Royal Thunder peeps. Very nice and chill people. I do like that band and they nailed the sound they have on the atl recordings.
Ancient vvisdom- I had very low expectations so when they weren't immediately terrible, i was pleasantly surprised. Seems like they are trying to change their sound up a bit, I did like the use of an acoustic guitar and chains as percussion instruments, but still not that great. they finished with the hail satan song which I cant take seriously, kinda like praising the Easter bunny .
We're lame and have jobs, so we left after pallbearer. Wanted to stay but 4 hours of sleep is kinda the minimum for being remotely awake at work. I hate weekday shows. And waking up early... it blows.

You need more Galaxicon on your show.
Aww HUSH YOU.
Also, seeing Pallbearer made me want to get an old Peavey Rockmaster head (not the preamp, the actual head) because Brent sounded awesome in Denver running two of 'em.

Also, been thinking of picking up an Orange 1x8 cab to run as an extension along with my Verellen for shits, giggles, and glass cutting toanz
I still need to hear this obstructures..... and it's silent p-90's....
1x8? You cray cray, could be kvlt for them black metal tones though......

I didn't see anything obvious when I messed with it but I didn't look at the wires as close as I should. The Weber just sounds a little more nasally and its like it has a faint distortion on it. I only notice it with my cleans though.
The problem with those wires is they can work loose where you can't see em so they look perfectly normal but don't sound it. If it has a faint wispy distortion that sounds a lil distant in comparison to the signal when playing clean, then you have exactly the same problem I had with these 15's when I got em, which unfortunately means you probably have a blown voice coil.

I have been playing in the Chicago scene for almost 20 years. It's a great community. Great venues. I'm always finding new bands that are doing exciting things.
examples:
Witchbanger
The Atlas Moth
Arobogast
Electric Hawk
War Brides
Lord Mantis
What type of heads do the Pallbearer guys use? I didn't see them this last tour, but I saw the one before.

http://proguitarshop.com/boss-fv-500l-stereo-volume-expression-pedal.html thinking about getting a voluem pedal. The boss seems pretty rad due to the stereo ins and outs along with expression out. Any suggestions and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You doooo! And yeah, I think it would be too haha. I've been playing stereo with my Valve Junior 1x8 combo and the Verellen, the 8" speaker is bright enough to tighten up the little bit of darkness that the Verellen cab has. Makes it a little bit more wide range!

That sucks. I figured I'd have to end up getting a new speaker. The good thing though is that the timing is pretty good. The new band I'm in isn't ready for shows and we are only using one cab a piece at practice while writing for a demo and set. Hopefully by the time we get ready to play out I can get the cash to get it replaced.- Ancient Astronaught

Those boss stereo volume pedals get alot of love from what I've seen, more so then the equivalent Ernie Ball pedal. I've also seen them on alot of "pro" boards along side Klon's and Cornish's, so they gotta be TGP approved. If I was running a stereo setup that would probably be the pedal I get, rugged / reliable and large enough for someone wearing boots.

That's awesome, I can definitely see how it would be beneficial in your setup, go fer it!!

It does suck, luckily its only 1 speaker! Glad to hear you found a new band and are working on new material!!! I hope your able to get it squared away before your guys first show!!

Don't forget Indian!
Pallbearer, as I recall, is using old Univox heads.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I need to go out to more shows, the amount of GAS I've been having for things have made me stay home pretty consistently in an effort to buy them. At least my pedal buying has ceased for the longest, now just have to do something about this cab GAS. I should slice my credit card in half fer real.
