On another board, someone started a thread called "Recommend me a horror movie". A few people were were trying to get recommendations in before I got involved. I got the thread shut down.

There's a start for ya'! Lots of awesome/weird movies, some that have awesome special effects.

I've seen some of these, but a lot I've never seen. Thanks for the recommendations! Judging by the trailers you got what I meant.

Movies from that time just seem to have a certain aesthetic that I'm feeling at the moment. I mean there's a shit ton of weird movies, and a lot of definitions as to what weird is. I just want to see some movies that are horror/scifi that have special effects that aren't all gnargnar CGI.
