Re: What was your first concert?
My first was a festival. Three rivers fest(I think that's what it was called) in South Carolina. First band was Morris Day and the Time. Then between Loverboy and REO Speedwagon I saw Twista on a differnet stage and after REO I saw Ceelo Green, then Grandfunk Railroad. Great day. When i was pretty young, my dad took me to see Bush in Japan and from what i remember, Great White opened. I could be could be mistaken but the great white shirt in my closet leads me to believe its true. Ill have to remember to ask my dad next time i talk to him. I have very little memory of this. So It don't count.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I can't beat '71, but I can come sorta close. My first concert was Ted Nugent w/ Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush in '79. My friend and I got tickets but were too young to drive so was had no way of getting from the burbs to Boston (the Garden). The best we could do was to find someone to take us to the bus station, so we hopped a bus to the train station (the T) and that brought us right to the show. Our parents would have flipped if they found out we were roaming around the "Big City" by ourselves. Did I mention that back then nickles used to have images of bees on them? Give me 5 bees for a quarter, you'd say....

It's funny seeing people mention Weird Al. In college (2000, I believe) I was going to school near Milwaukee and had a friend who worked for SFX, the promoter for many/all of the big shows in the area. We were backstage at the Weird Al show and he was an hour late going on stage. The reason... because he wasn't drunk enough yet. Sitting in his dressing room plowing through the better part of a bottle of Jack Daniels to "prepare" for the show.

Saw Bob Dylan in 97 in St. John's NL. It was an awesome show, well before Dylan started changing the arrangements of his songs to fit his aging voice... I was 16 and My Dad took me to the show. I've since seen shows both by local bands and acts from away and a few shows in Toronto one being The Jesus Lizard the other being Scratch Acid.

I drunk from small brown bottles, since i was so long...

Re: What was your first concert?
Oh boy. So the first concert that I ever went to was when I was very young. I would openly brag to my buddies in middle school about my mom taking my brother and I to see Prince when we were kids. My group of friends thought Prince was pretty sweet so they would be in awe of the story. None of their parents would dare take them to see anyone that cool!
One day when I was a bit older, I was retelling the story to a friend who hadn't yet heard it and my mom overheard me... "My mom took us to see Prince! MOTHERFUCKING PRINCE!"
She started cracking up and dropped the bomb on me.
"Oh, god, I wish... I took you to Milli Vanilli... Is that what you're remembering?"
Yep.

Mary Travers (of Peter, Paul, and Mary) in a square somewhere in Baltimore around 1974. It was cool, but I succinctly remember a large portion of the crowd being wasted. My first real concert was Rush Hemispheres January 79. I would later see Pink Floyd do the Wall at Nassau in Feb of 1980 when I was fucking 10. It blew my little mind, and I've never been sane since.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, God said, "Let there be Lips!" And there were, and they were good, and the lips said...
