Stoat killing a rabbit (1) This photo was taken shortly after the stoat first attacked the rabbit. The rabbit is desperately trying to get the stoat off its back, hence the blurring caused by the movement. The stoat's teeth are sunk deep into the back of the rabbit's neck. The attack took place in the middle of a quiet road and the stoat dragged the much bigger squealing rabbit into the grass. (see other photo)

Stoat killing a Rabbit (2) The stoat savaged the rabbit's neck and incapacitated it to a certain extent but it was struggling throughout the encounter. This photo was taken just after the photographer had deliberately made a slight noise to attract the stoat's attention. This caused a momentary halt in the attack. The rabbit was too weak to escape and the stoat returned and started eating the rabbit while it was still alive. The whole proceedings were brought to a halt by someone with three terriers coming to investigate the photographer's behaviour. The stoat ran away having only eaten a small amount of his meal and the rabbit was dispatched by the good Samaritan with a sharp blow before his terriers could do the job.

I forgot how great the Captain Sunshine episode of The Venture Bros. is. Not that there's an episode of that show that isn't amazing. The pacing is just fantastic towards the end.

Gotta love those moments when The Monarch is actually semi-competent and oh so diabolical. "Wouldn't it just be perfect if you could fuck your sidekick and your worst enemy at the same time?!"

Also, just polishing off a bottle of wine, and I made some delicious beef stew earlier.
