I would turn up everything on my Orange but motherfucker is loud. I don't traditionally play doom or sludge but I like to pop out those tones in parts of songs. So slightly broken up cleans are kinda necessary for me. Same goes for a single stop rat/ocd clone, I'd rather slowly gain stage it out.

also in noob mode, i don't really know much about teh doomz, but really enjoyed the Ufomammut clip. could folks recommend similar stuff for me to check out? n.b. i don't really care for screaming death-metal vocals.

I'd recommend Bongripper, particularly Satan Worshipping Doom. It's instrumental, has a lot of groove to it, but is majorly heavy and atmospheric.

There is much doom without Cookie Monster vox. Bong ripper is a good suggestion. Checkout bongzilla - there album gateway. More of a stoner metal classic but it has doomz elements. I think you would dig it, especially after some fine greenery... ;)

Operation Cab trade was a success :joy: :omg: :!!!: i now am the proud owner of a Emperor 2x15!!!! and the issues the owner brought up were fixed with a couple wood screws!!!! I only got to play it at low volumes since its 1:30 in the morning but it sounded sick for both guitar (paired with my 4x12) and bass (on its own). :yay:

The only downside is the Acoustic 8x10 deal i was supposed to do on the same trip fell through, damn CL seller never got back to me, oh well his loss.  :picard:

Kinda funny story, we met up with a couple guys we had talked to a while back when we were looking for a singer. Drummer and a singer, they were a package deal which is why we didn't get something going before. They were looking to start up something similar to what we're doing. Our current drummers leaving in a few months so we gave it another shot. the singer guy stepped up to the mike and let out this huge growling roar, followed by a look of suprise. I guess the band they've been with has a smallish pa they use and he hadn't really been able to hear himself before. he calmed it down a bit and sounded pretty good. The look on his face was priceless though :D
/CSB

Pretty happy to have them aboard, now I dont have to try to sing.

Edit: Unrelated CSB #2

Our new dog Dogo was freaking out, I thought he was just feeling sick. He's a "rescue" and isn't all that healthy yet. So I let him and the other two out back and they start barking their heads off. I went out to check and this truck peels out like mad from next door where there building a house, with a big load of lumber falling out the back. Its midnight here. So I called the cops and gave the dogs treats. I'm not necessarily pro law enforcement but I hate thieves, especially in my neighborhood.
