Not exactly. The preamp has a bunch of inputs, the Bright and Dark are similar to whats in a Superlead/Superbass but then there is also an EF86 input. You can jack into all 3 and then they are mixed together or you can put the boost mode on and jack into the Bright or Dark and that cascaded their signal into the EF86. So the gain level goes from SL/SB to JMP and beyond since an ef86 is a small signal pentode capable of 2 or 3 times the maximum gain of a 12ax7. Not that I allow for that but it can. Mode control allows the ef86 to operate as pentode, UL, or triode for various levels of gain and tone.

Then there is a modded Marshall style FMV that I used in the Stonehenge with the 2nd Mid control is the Shift control to adjust the low mids and high mids.

However after the phase inverter to the V4 phase inverter, much different then a Marshall PI and then 4 Kt88s at 200W using a Hiwatt power supply scheme. No Ultra Linear mode

Presence is more like a Vox style Hi Cut. There is no negative feedback currently setup in the amp.

Alex, how does the Joyo sound on your Marshall? I've thought about picking up one to use as a light OD for my clean and to also boost the Revelation (not that it needs it at all, but both of those would kick my amp up to 12).

Skip, if I wasn't broke I'd hit you up about that Supercollider. I had a v2 in the same color scheme and loved it on bass paired up with a Pharaoh. Heaviest bass tone ever.

I have only played it through the Bassman so far. It sounds fucking righteous through the Bassman so i can only assume it will be fucking crushing through the Marshall. Will let you know once I have given it a whirl. Will do some recordings at practice.

All this talk of that Ultimate drive is realy tempting me to buy one...i have been thinking for a while of adding another OD pedal to my board to stack on my Distortion3...there's a second hand one for £25...i may just buy it...i really cant lose...right?

OK, maybe it's just me that doesn't understand much about amps, but this sounds really elaborate. Is it normal that the different inputs go to such different preamp types? I always thought bright and normal would just mean lifting one cap or something the like.
Anyway, this sounds really awesome. I must confess I'm not a fan of that font. Looks too normal like a helvetica signpost or something for me. makes it look less than it should. Personally I am a huge fan of Art Deco style lettering, but maybe some other font from this site tickles your fancy:

Its the closest thing to a Hiwatt font you can get. Hiwatt had their panels engraved by hand and there is no 100% accurate font and Eurostile is the closest I could get. It was at the suggestion of the customer to design the panel to be honest. i just make it work wit hthe control layout.

In all of the SB/SL/Bassman/Traynot/Superlead/Mig style amps with Bright and Normal/Dark inputs, the different inputs go to different gain stages which have different EQing to get Bright and Normal/Dark type tones and the outputs are sent to individual volume knobs and then summed using a resistive mixer before the V2 tube.

In this approach I just use 3 inputs that go to 3 different stages that can either all be summed together after their respective volume pots or Bright and Dark and summed then cascaded into the EF86 channel. So its kind of like going from Superlead to JCM800 on a switch

I thought mine was pretty straight forward, the hardest part was probably keeping squeeky clean up the vol dial.
