That is a great deal! Please please please let me know what you think of it!

Thanks dude! and Thanks Johnny C!
I'll totally let you know, and of course post it in here! Thanks for responding because you guys totally pushed me off the fence! Plus I think it might be the amp Matt Pike used on Dragonaut(probably modded or something but still)! Plus I really needed another amp for jammates to use!

Yeah the AOR was totally used on dragonaut. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by it's capabilities.

I'm really hoping I love it. It's so much fun to crank out heavy jams with friends compared to slower, post-rockier type stuff and my hot rod dlx wasn't cutting it for higher gain stuff (but that's also why I love it) Oh and the only other amp I had was my first, an Orange SS 30 watt so if 2 people would come over and not bring an amp it like wasn't even fun so yeah... I'm just so fucking excited. :!!!: Sorry about that little rant there.
*EDIT* Just got tracking and holy shit the package is 51 pounds!

Laneys rule. The AORs are rad. I have a gh50l and I love that amp.

The AOR does have quite a bit of gain with the extra pre amp stage but not enough for my tastes. Slam it with an overdrive or a boost and you'll be in heavy distortion world. I would love to try a gh50l at some point.

Huh?
Cheap and rad?
What do they really sound like?
I've never played much Laney stuff before, but do see these AOR series things go cheap all the time.

They are like jcm800s but with more gain. Total marshall killers. I have never seen an AOR over 500 and that is rare I see them at that price.

Whereas the Marshall's punch through the mids, the laneys bring the low end and piercing highs, if you want them. The aor series has a boost function when you pull out the bass, mid, or treb knobs. At bedroom levels it is too much of a boost but at louder levels it is a very helpful tone shaping tool. The bass may be a bit too loose or unarticulated for some but it can be tightened up with some eq-ing. Plus I use this mainly for doom so bring the low end! Not that that is the only thing it can do because it is super versatile.

The aor is like a jcm-800 but really pissed off and less than half the price. It gives you that nice British overdriven sounds or brings the heaviez with its additional preamp stage. I personally run it slightly clean and slam the front end with shit tons of fuzz and it handles it like a champ! My buddy in a thrash band just cranks the shit and uses a boost pedal and it sounds great for his tremolo style. Although I do force him to turn down the treble and presence because it can get harsh but it can be perfect for black metal.

From my experience the 6 knobbers sound a bit more 80's and have an effects loop, if you are into that sort of thing!

Helter, I think you will be very happy. You will also build some muscles because that shit is heavy!!!

You may have gathered that I am a proud laney owner!!!!!!

Found the Love last month. Spent some time going through this entire thread in reverse. Now that I'm done, thought I'd post my own... Well, some of it. Not exactly an up to date shot but while a bunch has been added, the Sunn and 405 still stand. Funny to see really. It hasn't looked this tidy in years.

Phone's camera app glitched while this was processing...and the pic came out b&w by pure chance.
