Ænima is the only Tool album I like anymore, anyway. The ones before are all emotion and the ones after are too contrived.

wow that one hit a little too close to home for me. Every time I see something about Puscifer or APC playing a show or releasing something, I get really pissed. Enough with the fucking side projects already ...Buy my gear! viewtopic.php?f=44&t=58763

Recently listened to their albums in chronological order at work, been 2 years since i've even thought about Too - I enjoyed it although I forgot how much other band's use their sound.Though I noticed that they are pretty One Dimensional - pretty good but kind of samey.
The fans do annoy me, they're massively popular in Australia and I see a lot of 'those guys' wearing Tool shirts whenever I go to the the Record/Guitar Stores. You know the kind, the think that they can outplay the band playing live on stage then felate about Mesa Boogies

If 10000 days had been better I would've cared more about a new album.

I worked a temp job with a guy who said in complete seriousness, "I'm a hard Tool fan."
A "hard" Tool fan.
This is the lack of self-awareness by which the indigenous Tool fan can be identified.

Just a square nut looking a round for the right tool to screw, or something.

APC I'll give you, some of their shit was really good. Puscifer ... meh. Maybe I just don't "get it".
I'm always tried really hard NOT to be one of those Tool fans, and I think I succeed most of the time.
