Warhammer and other TT gaming ;)

Post by CaptainBoxman »

I know you're all nerds; we're that kind of social group :!!!:

Who among us is a tabletop gamer? What do you collect? Stories, anecdotes, anger at Games Workshop?

I personally collect Warriors of Chaos in WHFB, used to collect Space Marines in 40k , and also recently picked up Dark Heresy and D&D books.

I'm retired from GW, at the moment. I have a massive collection of Warhammer Dwarfs and a respectable collection of Sisters of Battle for WH40K. My hands are too shaky for painting, at this point, and I hardly have time, anyway.

I used to be diehard into TT gaming, I had a goblin army in WH40k (nothing funner then fielding 800 miniatures for a 2000point game  ) and a skeleton army in classic WH (yet again an almost 800 miniature army). But I grew weary of miniature games and became more interested with RPG's, I played in a 3 year epic D&D campaign, and I played Vampire: The Masquerade for many many many moons. Oh the 90's were fun times....

My personal 40k army is just chaos (night lords), but i have a friend who I play all the time and we have the ability to field tyranids, orks, necrons, space marines, and dark eldar.

We are giant nerds.

I did used to love necromunda ALOT though, I liked that it was smaller groups of figures and each one had a personality and you got to customize them and they grew and expanded the more you played. It also went alot quicker then full fledged WH games.

I'm really interested in Blood Bowl at the moment. I'd love to pick up a team, but it would be a waste of my time because as usual, where I live dictates what I can actually do.

You can get some really nicely done models now from independent sculptors, much better than GW's Bloow Bowl models

So I want to try that.

I have a ton of RPG books (Rifts, Mutants and Masterminds, Lamentations of the Flame Princess), but damn is it hard to get a gaming group together in Kansas City.

I was a huge Warhammer 40k dork in high school. Even though it was only me and one of my best friends we spent way too much time fucking around with that stuff. I played a variation of Blood Angels and still have most of my miniatures - had like a 3500 point army at one point with some pretty sick tanks and commanders and whatnot.

I keep thinking about selling them...so if any of you still play and want/need some Space Marines that were painted in a pretty mediocre but not bad fashion hit me up and we can work something out :animal:

I was never too big into warhammer, (the prices turned me off, despite me understanding.) I would have rather put together a $2,000 magic deck than a warhammer army simply because more people played magic that I knew. Did play a ocuple times and I liked it but always thought to myself, why am I here instead of raiding on my warcraft account instead "where it REALLY matters" haha. Closst think to TT I play is the old school Marvel Heroclix. My friends and I still have games when we are all back in our home town. Over Christmas my bff and his brother had a 8 hour game of clix.
