letsgocoyote wrote:I'm really stoked on the New Hi Five. I hope you check it out. It just does boosting both clean or gritty so well and is a great overdrive... fairly transparent and touch sensitive and awesome on volume knob clean up. It's very leave-on-able IMO.

I won an earlier auction and really like mine. It's sweet!

letsgocoyote wrote:NOTE in case there is any confusion, the production models of Mini Wolf CPU DO NOT SELF OSCILLATE. This design choice was made for several reasons. It's an awesome fun cheap glitch fuzz. If you want self osc, get the fuzzhugger reissue. If you want cheap arpeggiator fun, get this one :)

So for owners of the original WC, will the mini produce the same sounds or not ...? Basically I'm interested in owning both, can you tell!!

If you already own a Wolf Computer, you already can get the same sounds as the Party Favor version: fuzz maxed and bias at a hair past 3 o clock (wherever any background noise gates out).

so no point in owning both, unless you really like it enough to have them. like if you want to have one for glitch arps and one for other things.
another interesting thing is to pput 2 or more arpeggiating wolf computers in a row, it doesnt jsut arp down, it arps up then down. ymmv

I ordered the first prototype of the new Hi-Five, I can't really get any overdrive out of it though, any advice?

It is like low gain overdrive/grit. Not heavy overdrive, what kind of pickups are you using?

I've tried it with Tele pickups, p-90s, Filtertrons, SD Humbuckers, etc. etc. It only sounded overdriven with the stock neck humbucker in my Airline. Either way I don't mind because it does wonders with my tone clean and dirty tones. I just sit it on top of my amp and leave it on.

Guess I should just get an overdrive pedal :idk:

Well I was thinking either that or a Groundswell, or maybe a Catalinbread Super Charged Overdrive, I want an overdrive sound like this:

Good thing I already have an original WC, or i'd be putting some cash down for that blemished model.
