I feel like I'm leaning towards the Mopho X4 in terms of a new synthesizer, because the polyphony is great for me, and it doesn't kill my wallet as much as a Prophet 08 would (or a Minimoog Voyager which I wish I could get haha).

However, the Tempest/drum machine GAS is still strong within me. Does anyone have any solid recommendations that aren't Electribes?

I even switched my monarch back to 9volts so it didn't swat the dern thing so hard

I think I could get by with just tone reaper and boost but that would be stupid

I've actually been using no pedals with my band since I fixed my ac30

I'll probly just use the Buzzaround and AD-9

Have you tried any stereo action with it yet?

not yet, I don't feel like I have a good amp pairing for it yet, my Princeton 2x10 is too loud
and I blew my other practice amp

Yeah I've been looking at that one a lot. It looks fantastic from the demo videos but 1) the price is not uber friendly, and 2) I'm not sure how easy/intuitive it is to use. I don't want to have to go through 50 submenus to change some parameter (but honestly I don't have any experience with Elektron's products so if anyone has something of theirs like the Machinedrum, feel free to chime in).

i had the SidStation and MachineDrum. they're.... quirky. they have a different way of laying stuff out than a lot of other people do, and some times it feels like they sacrifice ease of use a bit for Oh Mer Gerd This Think Looks COOOOOOOOOL, but with a bit of time you get your head around how they roll.

I was looking at the Machinedrum for quite a while, but then a Tempest came along and I snagged that and I haven't been left wanting. :S Would love to try a Machinedrum some day though! And that analog four of course, if the sequencers are as ace as they say they are, the CV/Gate outs could be mighty cool to my Voyager OS or something.

Hmmm... well that doesn't sound like a vote of confidence. I've been checking out some videos and tutorials and the Machinedrum doesn't seem too difficult to understand but I doubt the Analog Four is any easier (if anything it'll be more complicated).

I'd go for a Tempest first if the price wasn't so high... I really enjoy how it's set up (the GC near me has had a demo model for a few months now and it has been a blast every time I've used it). My only gripe is that it only allows a 4/4 time signature (unless this has been updated with the OS). Quick question: can you hook up a MIDI keyboard and control the synths that are in it?

Ordered an Expressionator from http://www.thesignalrocks.com, apparently they are out of stock and expect a 2 week back order! of course they fail to mention this at checkout :picard: The good news is that they are having a 15% off sale, I've been looking for a discount (or used) Expressionator for a while.
I've been searchin' for the dolphins in the sea.

it's not that it's super hard, it's just different. like it was programmed by somebody hella knew what they were doing, but hadn't played with other synths before. just....... different.

Just bought a PT-3. Now that I'm going to replace a bunch of pedals with a Mobius, I should be able to squeeze my covers board into the PT-3, and the Pro will hold my originals board. :thumb:

Absolutely. Also, as of version 1.2, you're no longer restricted to 4/4.

From the manual:

"Tempest’s beats are no longer limited to 4/4 time signature. Now you can have any time signature with a lower value of 4, 8 or 16, and an upper value of between 2 and 64. However, a beat’s total length can be no greater than 64 16th notes (for example, 4 bars of 4/4 or 1 bar of 64/16) and all measures within a beat must have the same time signature"
