Yeah, I might. Morally, do I see something wrong with it? Not so much on my end.

Could there be unintended consequences that should probably be taken into consideration? Sure, unless the relationship is totally in ruins and she doesn't seem to give a shit.

Now here's a question: Is emotional infidelity equal to sexual infidelity? Define "emotional infidelity" how you want to.

Married? / Married with deceit involved. No.
Separated for a substantial amount of time, but still technically married? Yes.

I typed out a response and then when I went to post it, ILF jizzed out on me.

So, basically, I don't think you can really give broadly general answers to questions like these.

It's either hypothetical or it's not and if it's hypothetical, it doesn't really matter.

They must be reviewed on a case by case basis. There're too many factors to take into consideration.

Depends.

I'm not a big fan of going through the motions as far as relationships are concerned. But there are a ton of factors to consider--EDIT: Chanks has the right idea.

Pretty much this if it's just about sex.

If it's about more and I'd want a relationship with her, I'd try to get her to dump the guy first, but if I was sufficiently smitten I would probably be talked into whatever excuse she'd have for seeing her while the divorce was being finalized.

I have a friend in this situation and it has made me realize that, as with most anything else, it isn't black and white.

But for me personally..."married" equals dead boner. It's hard for me to not lose respect for the cheater and, uh, whoever helps them cheat, I guess.
Maybe I can't say that for certain unless I ever get in that kind of mess though.
I also stray far away from "has kids".

^what he said. like Behndy, i've worn the cuckold's horns and wouldn't put them on someone else. there's also the pertinent question "if you met your partner because he/she was cheating, just exactly how do you expect to ever feel secure with them considering the precedent?"

^Invalid argument for about 90% of the situations ever. There's a LOT more to it than just trust issues.

Talking just about sex, without emotions, yeah, if her husband knows and is ok with it, sure, why not. I'm not the kind of person that needs to get laid often tho (I prefer music :P) so there's that too. If there are emotions at stake, it's a different story again. I'm with Chankz and Casavettes basically.

So I'll just conclude that for the situation that tuffteef presented, no.

Fuck no. My friend group (many of us married couples) knew a guy years ago who tried to ingratiate himself to us, who admitted that hitting on married women actively turned him on. And then he tried it on some of us. I've never wanted to kill a person more in my entire life. The amazing thing was he didn't know we were pissed at him until he showed up at a party, and we all took turns kicking him (literally) in the ass the moment his back was turned. At first he was all "ha ha, funny joke." And then he realized that he was the only one we were doing it to.

Seriously, thinking back on it even now, I get a little heated.

this...
i know this is going to sound cheesy but, if it's in the name of love than it depends.
if it means everyone involved will be truly happy when all is said and done (it's a pretty terrible thing when people are married who don't really like each other)

a friend of mine is married. right now their relationship is ruins, i won't go into detail.
i've known her for about 10 years
and i think deep down i've always truly loved her more than i love myself
and sometimes i think she feels the same
in the past she's said certain things hinting at being together
and there are moments where it feels like it would be right to do
but i don't know... nothing has happened yet.

thats why i say, it depends. maybe you can say that for almost any situation.

If you guys truly "love" each other, then she'll be around when the marriage is officially over right? Wait for that, then sleep with her. You can't rationalize this sort of thing.

I've been REALLY into girls that were with just boyfriends, let alone married, but I won't be the dude that fucks with someone's relationship, shambles or not. Had an opportunity recently. Girl is stunning, and cool, but clearly just looking to experiment with the notion of fucking around (i.e. she's bored and shouldn't be with the dude anyway)... BUT, there are lots of pretty, and chill women in the world. Integrity above all else. For me, I couldn't live with it. I've been on the losing end of this scenario (not married, but you know... LONG term relationship), and I can't think of anything that made me feel worse, or more filled with murderous rage (which one aught to be concerned with... because nothing makes a guy more insane than a girl, or dude fucking his girl).
