More of a smooth pea gravel kinda dude myself, but I always like Dev's earthy rustic outdoor gear pr0n.

Got to play this guitar at my in-laws today. I think it might be an unmarked/unbadged Tiesco. The single pickup wasn't gold foil, but sounded nice and trashy. It had really bold cleans though!

Does it have the weird rectangular frets too?
I really like fat necks. If I could have like...a 24" scale bass neck that would be the best

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
A lot of those old department store guitars made by Kay in the 50's/60's had baseball bat necks.. but man do they sound good. I've been keeping an eye out for one of these for awhile, and if I found one cheap, I'd snap it up and get a good tech to go over it and upgrade the crappy stuff:

Nah, the frets were actually kind of low and the action was really high, made it kind of hard to play, but still fun no less.
I'm super used to fender necks now, a standard C shape, although the Jazzmaster's baritone neck is a wide U which is actually really really comfortable
The neck on my Kramer is kind of thick, but its just so comfortable that I don't mind it at all

Played the Telemaster OUT for the first time last weekend!! It was wonderful. Bright and clear and heavy and everything I've ever wanted.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Yeah, vintage instruments used smaller frets. I bet a Kay or similar baseball bat neck would feel great of it was refretted with jumbos. The cost might not seem worth it though, unless you can DIY it?

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Mmm...I'm afraid to DIY a defret/refret. Removing them is probably easier at least. The frets on mine are either weird by default or were worn down so much they're almost rectangular and really short...but it's like that evenly across the neck, so
I just keep it tuned way down to compensate for the horribly high action; the lowest string being B or C makes it playable. I've adjusted the truss rod but the neck pocket itself has warped over time. I think it was left exposed in a basement for years. The funky neck + lessened string tension makes it really easy to get those GAEZTOANS by bending the neck itself...it would also be a great slide guitar if the bridge had individual saddles.

You should be afraid. That's nothing to mess around with, you can do some damage.
Which guitar is this you're talking about?

Yeah, I'm never gonna mess with frets on anything anyway. They don't bother me, it's just weird.
It's the old Kawai "Tele-Star" I posted a couple pages ago.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Oh, yeah, I love that guitar.
It's probably not worth refretting. You should find an adjustable bridge and set it up for slide.
I have an old Teisco that has weird frets like that. They work well enough though.

New pickguard on the Duo Sonic. I really don't want to get rid of this thing:
