There's such thing as a good zombie movie???
Yeah, Wild Zero.
I should say, "There's such thing as a zombie movie that actually tries to explain them rationally and in a way that can be taken seriously without just being like: 'Yeah, Romero-esque zombies. Go with it because you're an idiot'?"
Too many questions (I pose these to anyone):
-Why don't zombies eat other zombies?
-If they're so mindless, how does a zombie know what's another zombie and what's a human?
-When, after initial infection, is this distinction made (because clearly zombies are capable of making this distinction or they'd just eat each other until there's one left, who might just eat himself)?
-What kind of infection makes every person specifically crave one kind of sustenance? If that were realistically possible I can't help but think McDonald's would've already spread it and we'd all be munching on McRibs (good god, now I'M hungry,

).
-If you can't answer these questions, why are you wasting money on a movie/TV series when there are plenty of other serious filmmakers who'd love these funds?
I'm not trying to be a hater. It just blows my mind that people don't ask these basic questions nor that the answers aren't already provided by filmmakers. I'm just insanely skeptical of the infection-as-cause explanation and find relying on your audience's acceptance of stereotypical archetypes to be lazy and shitty writing.
And if there's a zombie movie that relies on the basis of "It's just magic, Ooh!" that's totally legit and I would like to see that movie.
And of course there are movies that clearly aren't meant to be serious, and are either funny or try way too hard to be funny and just end up painful to watch *cough* *cough* Shaun of the Dead *cough* *cough*
