@Psyre, congrats dude!!!

I've gained 25 pounds since May :( BUT I've also been eating regularly (3x a day as opposed to 1x a day at school) and not been able to walk on campus every day (have to drive everywhere here)

I've been going to the gym with my fiance though, just so I can get up and move

Seriously bros, that's great!

Haven't been weighing myself but def. noticing the waistbands getting looser, and ran 4 miles on the treadmill today, probably could've kept going--felt really good.

I decided to start running once again this week, and worked up to 4.3 miles today. Managed to keep it at under 10-minute miles, too, which is pretty good for me when I haven't been doing anything for a few months. I tell myself that I'm totally going to get in amazing shape over the next 6 months and run the Boston Marathon in April, buuuuut... well, aim high and all that, y'know? Some sort of 10K in the next few months would probably be realistic, though.

Super impressive for not doing anything for months :thumb:
I've got a 5K next weekend, I'm hoping not to :facepalm: especially since it's the morning after my drummer's wedding...

I'm starting a new bulk effective immediately until the end of December. Holiday pigout mode, my favorite time of year. Time for some Ben & Jerry's...

Greek yogurt has become a staple in my house. Fat free plain has completely replaced sour cream for the wife & I, we use it to make dips, put it on tacos & burritos, etc. The protein to carb ratio is amazing.

So I've been reading up on studies about inactivity. It's bad...

Supposedly you're never supposed to sit down for more than 3 hours per day... No I don't mean at a time... I mean total...

A new study by a team of researchers in Australia found that sitting down is as bad for you as smoking or being obese.

so i'm still losing weight and feeling better than ever in the last three years. Quite a great feeling. Now i'm watching my food since 3 months - couldn't have imagined that before. But it works for me.
Old belts and trowers start to fit again. Awesome!

I've read a similar article. I think it all goes back to "what cave-people are supposed to do." :idk:

Anyone have any good, non-fad, non-try and sell you a bunch of BS kind of links/articles to putting on some bulk using body weight exercises? I don't currently have access to weights. I do have an awesome pullup bar, though. I've been doing handstand pushups, pullups, regular pushups (with the bar overturned on the floor and my feet on a chair). I'm not sure there's any substitute for a dead lift, but I thought I'd throw it out there.....

Focus on pushups, pullups, bodyweight squats, and sprints.

Exercises that move your body activate more muscle fibers than lifting exercises. Running in general "expresses" certain genes for health, weight loss, and muscle development. Long distance running however can have a catabolic effect on your muscles, so sprints are ideal for putting on mass and gaining strength.
