i was wondering if anybody's had any experience trying to get YT to intervene in stuff like this?

is there any way you can prove to youtube you own the vids? otherwise.. I'm not sure what you can do.. when it comes to this stuff who has the passwords has control..

nope. believe she originally uploaded the vids. but Haki's right. all we really have up there is stuff with her in it.

hurm. actually, thinking about it, kinda getting to where maybe i don't care about the email or YT channel that much. we DID just start out, so it's not like a lot will be lost if we move those.

i'd say don't. Don't deal with her... let her keep the mail, the youtube account and all that... show her you're not as dependent on her as she thinks, set up new accounts, create new content and contact your subscribers to subscribe to the new account... don't bow down

but it's looking like the less contact we have to have the better. i guess i was caught up in the annoyance and weirdness of it all, didn't really think through how it doesn't make that much difference in the long run.

Behndy, you are a class act. This is the correct way to deal with this kind of situation. Getting into a war with your singer/keys player would only cause the drama to go on and on. I had a former bandmate that had a substance abuse problem and he had set up the bands FB page and email accounts, luckily another bandmate had the passwords to the accounts and we were able to lock everything down. Things got way out of control during one practice session, he got abusive and a knife was pulled, I was able to talk him down, but that was the end of our dealings with him. It was really a shame because he was a great guy when sober and the three of us made a MONSTER sound. Things will blow over and you may have to go through a name change, but it still sucks right now.

Yeah. I think she got you on that one, homeslice. Back when Losers' Reunion had a couple of guys being douchebags, I made for damn sure I was the one holding all the passwords before shit went down.

To be honest, I never dug on her much. Found her vocal stuff erratic and annoying. Not just saying that to make you feel positive about the move, I was showing someone my "awesome bass friend from Cali" by linking your vid to them the other day, and I literally said, "try to get past the singer". And maybe it's being around the mentally ill all day long, but I could just look at her face and see straight up histrionic bipolar looking back at me.

Just one last dig on her, you and your drummer sound awesome. Really. It's great and complex but it's comfortable. Her stuff seemed forced. If you find even just an above average person to replace her, I think you'll end up better in the long run.....maybe someone who understands that simpler is sometimes better since you're handling the busy stuff. I dunno.

But yeah. It sucks. I think it'll be a blessing in disguise, though. I know you're too nice to do so, but if you want us to go comment bomb those vids with how much she sucks, maybe we can disgust her into giving it back.

Just consider it a loss and move onto your next project Ben. You're a creative guy. You can come up with something else. Singers are everywhere dude. Not good singers, but still, you could find a new one pretty quick. Drama is stupid. Her hating you is stupid as well. Has she ever spoke to you??? You're awesome! How could she hate? How I say!

lol. you GAIS. i really appreciate all the kind words. PLEASE don't do anything to enflame this grrL. we've got it at where we're gonna trade the stuff of hers for my gear she has (lulz. fucking hostage situation and shit.), then we're done with her. i DO wish her the best. there's good parts in her. it just didn't work out, and i wish it'd played out differently, but whatever.

i do think she's very talented. i get how the add approach to melodies might be a bit off-putting, but i loved listening tk her and musically had a blast with everything we did. it was just extra-curricular drama and personality conflicts that got in the way. things don't always click long term.

but yeah, we have the FB page still, i have the (forget the correct terminology. i filed the paperwork.) rigts to Blood Party, all the music besides the singing and keys is me and Paul, so we've actually written two new instrumetal songs in the last 2 days for any gigs we do until we find somebody, but any of the music we want to keep and restructure.... not really an issue. y'all made me realize the only stuff she's locking us out from is pretty petty, inconsequential stuff.
