Took out the second pickup and stereo wiring I had installed in this bass, covered up the cavity with an enclosure backing, and cut a new pickguard out of an LP.

haha totally. I only didn't include knobs on this guy because that pickup is seriously the best thing I've ever played, and I hardly ever used a volume knob anyways since I've got a volume pedal. The pickup itself is SO articulate, I swear it gets a wood neck to sound pretty damn close to aluminum. Gah Bless EGC

I don't really use volume knobs either... but I LOVE tone controls :animal:

I like darkening up my Kramer by rolling the neck tone all the way down and the bridge tone all the way up and leaving it in the middle. BEST SOUND EVER

I like playing with knobs, and I’d put a big old mud bucker in that bridge slot, but I’m a pervert.

Oh how awesome would that beeeeeeee. It's currently routed for a Jazz-bridge pickup. BUT I did just get ahold of a router. DAYUM wouldn't that be an awesome combo

Bridge mudbucker is super mediocre. It just sounds like a really dull Jazz pickup with the tone rolled all the way off.
Neck mudbucker, that's the shit. Mid-bucker would be cool too.
Neck + bridge mudbucker is slightly different from neck-only, but not so different that I'd add a bridge one. Again, I mean.
My dream combo thus far would be neck mud, with a Jazz right next to it and then a P next to the J, with a 3-way individual selector and a volume pot. Bridge pickups...totally unnecessary :idk:

No way man. Actually I've been thinking of flipping the Dingwall, Spector and possibly my GK head or Eden head and buying a MTD or a different model Dingwall. I fucking LOVE the Dingwall dude. The tone and the feel is amazing. Especially after I just put new strings on it. I HATE flipping basses anyway. It's such a fucking hassle.

I just don't dig the jazz style of the Spector like I thought I would.

I guess it goes to show that if you play one type of bass for years and years, nothing else will feel quite the same.

Middle pickups all day...get dem upright wannabe toans by playing way up on the neck...get dem treblies by playing at the bridge, can't go wrong.
Also, Ric bridge pickups. Those are acceptable. And T-40 ones too.

I don't like my T-40s bridge pickup. It's not bad, but sounds shit compared to the neck. I'm probably going to remove it and go neck only so I don't have to worry about hitting the pickup selector or damn phase switch by accident anymore.
