Yeah, not sure if Gummo was just overly hyped before I saw it or if it just isn't an interesting movie to begin with.

Either way, I was overwhelmingly unimpressed.

Had to see it when it came out... Youtube killed that kind of movie... It was funky for it's time...

Mid to late 90's were about making "Reality" Movies... There was nowhere to see that kind of tardness unless you lived it... Those movies were the precursor to what people do on YT now... There is no message it was the medium...

Honestly, I think the execution is exactly what he intends to do. I find his films to be visionary and fantastic. I'm excited for Spring Breakers, even though it seems like he's moved to a more normal storytelling format with it.
