Started reading House Of Leaves.
Borrowing it from a friend who wrote notes throughout and she encouraged others to do so, as well.

I feel like that would make the book more difficult to read.
I'm in this:

I'm not really a reader to start with, so we'll see how it goes.

One of my biggest pet peeves are the people who write notes/underline/otherwise fuddle with books. Distracting to no end.

I agree. I had a professor who strongly encouraged us to annotate the book as we read. So now I don't want to lend mine out to people because it would be obnoxious to read somebody else's notes throughout. They don't want spoilers along the way, and neither would I.

Super Sad True Love Story.
Only read the first chapter but I like it so far.
Before that: The old Man on the Mountain (or something like that) by Philip K Dick. Excellent book.
Audiobook: Patrick Rothfuss, The Name Of The Wind. Solid Fantasy.

Re: What are you reading?
I don't have time to read books anymore (:( sad English Major), but when its not academics, I go for pleasure novels more than canon. Next time I can read a book, it's time to reread American Gods for the third time.
Anyone else mentioned what's going on with that cover??

I really enjoyed High Rise, so I got most of the collection. I'm liking it so far, but it's not grabbing me as instantly as High Rise did.

That one was pretty good. Kinda got tedious and predictable towards the end.

Pleasure novels are the only way to fly Tommy D. Most of that canonized crap is only significant because of its socio-historic context.
I'm plowing through Mona Lisa Overdrive now. Who said they gave up on Neuromancer?

I'll give you 50-50 on "fun to read" and "has to be here because it's important."
And, remember, one man's Faulkner is another man's cathoder.
