i'd give details on the RED but i'm not even sure what it is yet. it's either 1/1 or 1/5 made. 100w, true dual channel, Matamp.

no problem man. maybe a sound/tone discussion. I know that Matamp made some 2 channel units for EA when they were partnered but that unit looks like it was made in 2011 which seems to new to be that stuff.

Matamp never really stopped making hundred watters, broseif. They've always done a bunch of one-off work.

yes i know Matamp does one offs but the Matamp/EA partnership was not long lived so I was wondering the story behind this unit and its age, ect ect

Right, but I sincerely doubt this amp was made at Electric Amp's request/order. If it was it'd probably be one of the GT/OR models.

That's where I was going with the one-off/custom stuff.

I've only seen one other RED amp from Matamp, and it was a much more conventional beast:

Bought the Peavey 2x15 earlier this week for $25. The Black widows had a couple of issues that hopefully were taken care of today. The foam on the back cover on both had crumbled away so that was cleaned up and new foam put in place. The spider on the top speaker had also come unglued and rattled pretty bad. I glued it back but have to wait 24 hours before I can test it... oh, the 65' Super Reverb is not mine.

New cab(s) day leads to new rig day. Been trying to put together a versatile, low wattage setup and this is what came of it. First, ordered the vert 2x12. Later found the 1x12 for an insanely fair price from a super cool dude on eBay (wtf?!?!). Rules pretty hard in any and all configurations thus far but I've been stacking everything and turning that shit up loud of course. Hard to settle into this low wattage mindframe...

I love it man!

Super cleans, buncha headroom for 15W but it'll get loud as shit and pump out the grind and high volume. Pretty unique sound with the 6V6s and baxandall + mids EQ too, just tons of variety. Takes pedals like a champ (thank god!) and the reverb sounds badass, just a belton unit, but it's a nice mix of giant hall and Fender spring verb. The 15W (pentode mode) and 7W (triode mode) is nice too, really cuts some volume for the late night, everyone else sleeping guitar freakouts.

Damn you though Mick! I'm seriously considering the baby stereo rig ever since you planted that seed in my head awhile back. EL84 setup would probably be a super sweet compliment to the gvt15 but I'm struggling with that $750 price tag....

Thanks sylnau!

Longed for something (besides black) that wouldn't look shit with the Ampeg silver/blue grill cloth. Dylan at Emperor suggested a blueburst, I just asked that it be dark-ish and semi-subtle. Wasn't sure what to expect when I went to get it from 'em, like a live unveiling, very pleased. :thumb:
