Tru-Oil aka Gunstock oil. I got it at a sporting goods store in the guns and ammo section!

It's looking good as hell man! In my crazy Motorcaster I've got a wooly-ass P-90 in the neck and a stacked humbucker (that looks like a Tele bridge PU) in a Tele style bridge plate. Kills.

Thank you!!
And I just think the combo of a 90/HB is going to kill. Would love to see yours!
On another note, while I stood the body up on its side to oil it this morning it fell over onto the neck and now has two tiny line dents from the frets.... Might end up going the hard finish route...

That's awesome! That finish is amazing. Almost makes me want to cover a guitar in copper and then let it sit for a decade or two

Elwood is pretty amazing with that stuff, right??? Rust, gold leaf and fire! Love that guitar.

Yeah that's great!
When I get home I'm going to apply a few more coats of oil to the sides of the body and then I think I'll call it a day on it until the copper shielding comes. Don't want to work on the wiring really until the bridge pickup comes in. I might also get ahold of a nice yellow cap for the inside instead of the cheapie I bought with my order

I swapped some orange drops into a guitar recently and really liked the difference. The sound was somehow fuller or rounder or something.

Did you find the size of them to be difficult? I'm thinking with how small the tele cavity is I'm going to have to keep them small or narrow. I got an orange cap to put in it, but it's seriously fucking huge haha

Ah yeah, true. I threw mine into a semi-hollow Silvertone Stratotone, so I had nothing but room in there. Hahaha. You're right though, those .1mf orange drops probably wouldn't fit in a Tele control cavity so well.

I took it out of the component bag and just started laughing loudly staring at it for a few seconds. And then I put it back in the bag haha

Got the straplocks/strap holders drilled tonight and put the string guards in as well on the back. sanded down the neck pocket a bit just so the neck wouldn't be as huge an effort as it was acting to get in. Once I got the neck in, it looked like it was about 1/4-1/8" smaller/less deep than the Jazzmaster neck pocket. Do you think this will be an issue when it comes to intunation?

Does the neck goes all the way in and meet the body?
Is it just not touching in the corners?
Pics?

Is it bad enough where the distance from the nut to the 12th fret isn't equal to the distance from the 12th fret to the bridge do you think?
