"Shelf" CD Stereo Systems

Post by CBA »

Hiii.

I posted this the other night but then took it down because I don't know why.

Any of yous guys bought an actual CD Stereo with speakers lately? I miss having a dedicated CD player... like one slot and two big speakers. I have a Sony Surround Sound thing, but I only use it as a DVD player / CD stereo (no room for home theatre), but it doesn't sound good for just listening to music.

A few that I found:

1) Denon D-M38

2) Onkyo CS-445

3) Bose Wave III

Most of these come with an iPod jack, but I don't give a shit about that as the point is to PLAY CDs.

I do have a pair of KRK Rokit8s that I suppose I could just hook up to my MacBook Pro... I reckon that's got a pretty good CD player in it.

Anyway. To quote a nameless character on South Park:

"Go back to the 90s, faggot!"

I suggested the Denon you listed their to my girlfriend's dad and he really likes it. He also got a turntable that can plug into the auxiliary jacks in the back. I still have my shelf/desk top system from the early 2000s and it serves me well:

If there's anyone else in the world who cares about a good CD player, I ended up getting the newer Denon D-M39. Listening to "In Utero" on it right now and it's fucking GREAT.

It's so much fun to look at a damn CD collection and be like "THIS" and then pick it up and put it in the one disc tray and blast that ass.
