i'm taking my band out for the first time in a couple weeks for a short trip through NM, TX, OK, and KS. there's four of us, we have a minivan, and none of us have toured before. any helpful tips?

awesome! looks like we're playing in dallas, then visiting mckinney for my friend's wedding. how do you promote tour shows? do you just email the press contacts and say "hey we're from out of town you should care about us?"

I've heard that you want to act all professional when promoting or trying to get shows or whatever, to treat dat shiz like a job interview. But I've never done it myself. Just heard.
