I plugged the bass in today and I was really taken back by its tone. It sounded REALLY good today for some reason. MAYBE THE WEATHER

I posted this on a page in the 30's somewhere when I had just bought it, new photos after I changed the strings, and gave the whole bass a good clean up as well. Totally 100% happy with the tone, the look and the feel of this crazy monster. So happy I laid it lovingly on my bed and had a photo shoot....

The cherry LP copy on the right is my favourite bass. Not sure who the manufacturer is, can't find any information on it anywhere. Sounds great though.
Between what is possibly a semi hollow body and all the switching for the pickups, it's a great bass with heaps of tonal range. The theory is that it's a Kasuga.
Love it.

Late to the party, but as a fellow admirer of 70's Japanese stuff: that LP bass is hot shit. Damn.

^ Nice.

My newest acquisition, '78 Musicmaster bass. I think I'll replace the knobs, not sure what with yet though. And it's a little noisey, and the signal gets a little iffy at times so I'll probably just rewire it with new pots and jack.

Ok we're good...

I don't like those insta grab holders though... It feels like the stand is clinging on like an obsessed girl...

Do unfinished ones count?

Blue = Squier Affinity Precision Bass, boring white pickguard swapped for black one. DIY Shielding using Elmer's Glue and Aluminum Foil (Adhesive tapes wouldn't work), Wilkinson bridge. Tuned D#/Eb Standard.

Gold = Squier Standard Precision Special Bass, thumb/finger rest added (today, actually). Jazz neck was taken off due to a broken truss rod, and replaced with an Affinity P-bass neck and a P-bass bridge. Seymour Duncan STC-BO Blackouts 2-band preamp, and currently awaiting a new bridge or new screws for the existing bridge.

Black = Ibanez ATK 3EX1. Preamp Condensor C11 has been changed from 0.047 uF to 0.022 uF for some more low end. Pickguard has been wrapped in Carbon Fiber adhesive wrap found in an auto parts store. I keep this one tuned to C# standard (1 and 1/2 steps lower) or BEAD, if the string gauge allows it.

The little guy with no neck is a Squier Bronco body I ordered of eBay. My dad and I think it's a pawn shop salvage, because the pickguard had a green dot sticker, which is really common for pawn shops to put on instruments. I am still waiting on the pickup, it's a Chinese knock off of the GFS Lil' Killer Vintage rail pickup. This is my first big bass building project. I've been keeping my eye out for a short-scale Lefty neck for it. I removed the tone knob and replaced it with a series/paralell switch for when the humbucker arrives. Also added a treble bleed to the volume knob, but also waiting for some funds to come in to buy either a Vintage Fender bridge with threaded saddles, or buy the 4-saddle MusicMaster bridge. Or maybe add threaded saddles to the Music Master bridge. Not sure yet. Also needs a different pickguard, my paint job went badly but I got an idea of what I want now. :yay:
