As far as Fema Camps, meh, I tend to think of what makes most sense for our government to do. Spend secret millions building a new world order death camp... or waste borrowed money from china funding some bullshit "emergency" facility that some defense contractor weaseled into our defense budget. Think about it. if there was the phrase "Anti-Terror" associated with anything Congress would throw a blank check at it. I see these things as the equivalent of the F-22 raptor program or any other over budget behind deadline pork barrel military pet project. Spending for the sole sake of justifying their budget.

If the American government really wanted to go totalitarian, do you know what could be done about it? Nothing. The military far outstrips the civilian world in terms of technology and skill. It's not even worth worrying about at this point because nothing could change it if it happened.

I don't think massive civil unrest is impossible here, or anywhere. It just requires the right pre-conditions, and if you think the government doesn't have a contingency plan for it then you are deluded. Whether you trust the government to handle such an event justly or not is really what the matter is, and to me the answer is no. When the shit is hitting the fan it's just not likely that there will be time for justice. We already have a militarized police force that is comfortable storming into homes (sometimes the wrong homes) and shooting whomever may appear to be resisting, this is somewhat routine. This is the baseline for what we as a society are comfortable with. I don't see FEMA camps for the sake of FEMA camps, but in an emergency, either real or perceived, it wouldn't surprise me to see the govt take a shit on your constitutional rights, they're doing it already.

Try reading the 4th amendment and determining what it means to you, and compare that to what you see all around you. I doubt you'll find any parity.
