No but seriously. From your description I would not talk to him again in person but rather endlessly annoy the cops in hopes that they will endlessly annoy him until he shuts up. :idk:

What a barstard... if you do end up having to leave your current place, make sure you do something nice and horrible to him as a last goodbye...

If he does "beat the living fuck out of you" then alteast you have some way of getting him out of there, but don't let him push you about cause he is bigger, the best thing I found to do is to confuse people, if he threatens you, just start talking about unrelated crap, off the top of my head 'oh I saw this camel last weekend' I have used it countless times to get out of fights, when they get confused the adrenaline leaves them and leaves them open to a swift kick in the sack (which I never do and just walk off but that'd do the trick).

Or something i'd never suggest to do, but someone I know hated there neighbour so much that he dropped your neighbour is a child mol... through several peoples doors anonymously, that person got shunned out quite quickly funnily enough, but something like that could ruin a persons life so it should not be done...

But that's just venting at a joint feeling of pissedofferie I hope he can keep himself to himself and learn to turn his amp down (for a joke you could leave a pair of headphones at his door stop next time for subtlety)

Giving him the bene of the doubt maybe he was going thru something heavy and didn't realize the music was as loud as it was, since he turned it down and all. But I'd say next time just call the fuzz (cop fuzz not fuzz fuzz) and tell them that last time he threatened you. What he said was on the creepy uneasy side and I'd treat it as a threat whether he meant it to be or not.

He was probably just really high. I know I have let the volume creep up to crazy volumes when stoned. Then having someone knock on my door scared the shit out of me!

the police came to my house yesterday and told me they'd give me a citation for playing too loud, and that to play that loud where you can hear it outside of the house between the rows, very loudly, you need a permit. they refused to tell us where to get one. But they did tell us that the music sounded good.

well if you look at the philadelphia noise ordinance: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_noise_ordinance_for_the_city_of_Philadelphia_PA

you'll see that there are too many rules against this.

Which in your case Devi, works really well for you if portland has a similar ordinance, which i imagine they do.

I don't support neighbors getting riled because apparently a 65 watt solid state crate amp and drums are too loud for them to handle at 5:30pm, with there windows open.

But wank rock needs to be stopped.
I've got a fuzzbox and i'm not afraid to use it

Maybe he's heard of you and he wants to impress you. That why he got all weird when you asked him to turn it down, he felt that you put him down.

Ain't life grand?

I was just wondering about how your neighbor might have posted about his encounter with the “crazy cat lady” next door on his head banging forums.
