Re: Esoterics // Superstition
The idea that there is a point seems a little presumptuous to me.
Like I said earlier, I stand to the side of the atheist-believer scale. I have been on the receiving end of serendipitous events before, but unfortunately, I did not stay at a Holiday Inn last night, so I'm not sure I'm qualified to tackle what it all means

Things are 'hit-head-against-wall' simple, and I just can't stand watching people miss the point while it's hitting them in the face, and to hear them complain about how much their face hurts but they can't really say why. So I dissed out some food for thought that may help with finding the evil evil point.
I'm allowed to be pissed at times too :P

I understand what your saying but you cant expect everyone to.
Not believing what you are talking about is not "bad" it just different than you.
Your allowed to be pissed it just does not seem warranted from my perspective.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

Re: Esoterics // Superstition
Who was it again that said that Occult secrets should be shouted from the rooftops, Dion Fortune perhaps?
There's no point in it. Compare it to a Jehovah's witnesses doing the same. Yeah, irritating and arrogant bastards, get out of there! My instant reaction, too. The so called occult secrets are not worth much more than any other obscure news in un-educated field of study to somebody not involved or uninterested.
When I first became involved in the occult, in the early nineties
*gasp for being old enough to remember time before the internet*
if You wanted to get books with anything relevant to Your specific interest, and didn't live in a big city, one had to go to the library reference material reading room and find a good book dealer and do research on his publisher list books and cross reference archives.
Gradually texts started to become available online and if the good book dealers publisher list and reference books revealed the abundance of background material, the internet was a jackpot for spreading relevant material and reaching like minded people. And tons of irrelevant information and misinformation.
Lesson learned from that: much like with sports or with masters degree study, what You get out of it is pretty much what You invested in it in the first place. The in-depth knowledge comes from being personally involved, the profound revelations come from the subject growing on You. Imagine a student or an artist becoming obssessed with his work, until there is hardly anything anymore that isn't a possible source of inspiration to a new view point to the study.
Anything shouting from the rooftops doesn't do that to anybody. Besides, internet is doing it all the time. It can, of course, give a push needed to start with google and make it a field day at the library, but only if You're interested in the first place.

I like to provoke to give interest. That's why I give more questions than direct answers.

Re: Esoterics // Superstition
I believe that anyone can do absolutely anything they want... Just that no one believes some things are possible so they never. But like if you could surpass all what your body and brain and the world tells you and you really spent time on uhh say flying, then you could fly. But more "impossible" things take all your time and effort and concentration.
It's like if you couldn't play the solo to your favorite song, but you were determined to, even if you sucked at your instrument and it was a Dragon Force song (lol!) then you could, eventually, if you kept at it.
