I think it looks pretty cool without the tubes and transformers on the outside, ALTHOUGH how badass would it be to pretty much stomp on a mini amp on your board??
It's funny cause I almost asked Ben to build me one of these a few weeks ago. MIND READER

This is super cool! Pair that up with a poweramp and it's a much more affordable verellen! Maybe not exactly the same sound but it should be close right?

It'd be a little more flexible in that you could make the output section any sort of tubes or volume!

I was more interested before I saw the price
It's not insanely high...but high enough to where I'm not getting one. Looks way cool though.

It would be cool for DI purposes, but I've all ready got that handled. Wicked idea for sure though, if i had that much loot just sitting around I would consider it, but I don't.

Yeah definitely that. It's more affordable than a Verellen amp fo sho, but I'm still not paying that much. Best of luck to them though, I'm sure loads of people would love these and are actually prepared to pay for them.

Word. It'd be cool if the kickstarter had more levels of reward/payback... idk what you want to call it. Like pledge $50 or whatever and get a T shirt. I don't want to pledge for something I cannot afford without a little something in return.
But they definitely sound kick ass, no doubt about it.

Hmm, I've never even considered separating pre and power amps. How affordable could this make a Verellen amp?

$2500-$500= $2000 savings! You could buy a simple slave amp or even just plug it straight in to an existing amp. Hell, that saved $2000 could be a nice stack!

Re: VERELLEN Meatsmoke and Skyhammer preamp pedals
What really sucks is, I could see myself maybe doing the $500, just not at this moment. By the time I could spend $500 on one though, they will be $700...and I'm not spending that.
