I'm a little disappointing in myself that seeing a man with his face eaten off doesn't phase me.

+1. I've wasted so much of my life on the innernets that it seems like nothing is shocking anymore. Probably not a good thing.

I think that these kinds of things might just be getting more publicity than they used to. I blame the internet. Almost a couple years back, this guy wrecked his crotch-rocket high on PCP or something like it, right in front of my building basically. I didn't witness it firsthand, but apparently the account is kind of as follows:

He was riding the bike with only a pair of shorts and a helmet on (strangely enough) but was going too fast and wrecked. Ground one foot OFF on the pavement, and left the bike smoking. Paramedics arrive, and he does the "I'm God you can't fuck with me!" thing. Fight s the EMTs (and some helpful bystanders) hopping around on one foot until they finally could subdue him with some kind of tranquilizer.

After relating the story to a nurse friend of mine, she said (basically) "Yeah, there's a LOT that goes on that never makes the papers." AND I LIVE IN A SMALL-ISH TOWN!!!!!

After reading all these stories, I am now completely abandoning my idea to stage a zombie attack for April Fool's or Halloween.

for full meta-confusion value, that should have a picture of the Donner Party or Alfred Packer.

Why did they give the Donner Party a name that sounds like so much fun?
