When I watch movies I tend to gravitate how the images/story is presented aesthetically. I focus on the images shown and how they are presented and framed. It Is just as important to note what is not in the frame than what is in the frame. I will certainly check out ze movie and let you know what I think. One of my dreams is to be a cinematographer. I am going to post an image from an italian horror in every post!

anyone a Mario Bava fan? Movies like Black Sabbath, Black Sunday, Blood and Black Lace, bay of blood, hatchet for the honeymoon? Argento got a lot of inspiration from the man.

Mario Bava is amazing. He was so far ahead of his time and was able to pull off some incredible shots on a shoestring budget. Bava's style, concepts, and entire screenplays have been ripped off by Hollywood for decades now. Alien was heavily "inspired" by Planet of the Vampires and Friday the 13th was basically a re-shoot of Twitch of the Death Nerve. Of his films that I have seen, Black Sunday and Black Sabbath are still my personal faves.
Good B/S/T dealings with: univalve, DannDubbleEwe, Shish, ThePastRecedes, GiAnt_ROboT, chutneyfarmer, Muse FTW, robapov, skullservant, MaxMaps, psychedelicrelic, guitarslinger21, space6oy, theshoegazer, bongoben, osbornkt

Oh yeah I forgot to mention Planet of the Vampires! I absolutely love the set design and atmosphere of that movie. The movie itself is sort-of dry and slow, but it still has such an absorbing, enchanting charm to it. Ridley Scott sure got a l0o0o0o0ot of inspiration for Alien. I need to see Twitch of the Death Nerve. I think my personal favs of Bava would have to be Black Sabbath and Blood and Black Lace.

Zombi (flesh eaters) is an awesome flick.

Anyone seen The Beyond? shit was random... standard horror thrillery thing going on then suddenly... Zombies everywhere!

Cemetery man was okay I recall... I got a copy recently so need to rewatch it, Castle freak I think was italian and that shit was weird.

And yes, Asia Argento is tasty...

The Beyond is really random and silly yet has that Italian charm with bad dubbing, slow-moving, farfetched plots. Spiders Spider spiders crawling everywhere and all of a sudden woah this is a zombie movie...wait whaaaaaaa..

Castle Freak is not italian yet worth mentioning. It is from the director of the classic Re-animator yet far from italiano.

It had the italian film look... plus filmed in italy so you can see why I thought it was.

Yeah and then all the face melting at the end, the beyond is random... would not wanna watch it high.

Haha I kind of think the only way to watch it is high, then can you truly understand it - or at least you can forget about trying to make sense of it and enjoy it for what it is - silly, gory fun.

and Cannibal Ferox should be on this list (aka Make Them Die Slowly)

Totally blows next to Holocaust but still love it.

I love a lot of the earlier Fulci (before Zombi)

White Fang, Four of the Apocalypse, and Eroticist are a few right off the bat.

Hmm I have never seen those earlier Fulci flicks, just his gore-days, but I have been meaning to see Four of the Apocalypse for a while. Ferox is totally just a tamer, weaker rip-off of holocaust, but i proudly have a poster of it in my room next to the cannibal holocaust poster because I like the artwork.
