Downstrokes are all well and good if you don't like syncopation, or in other words, interesting music. :p

Why does complex rhythms have to be synonymous with interesting music? What about emotions and passion?

As a ska-punk enthusiast, I will represent the downstroke and upstroke.

i go between down strokes and alternate picking. down strokes for the fuzzed out heavies, alternate picking for both evil and clean arpeggios or tremolo picking.

I was quite happy until you reminded me  ' [/still sore djent doesn't involve dressing up like dapper sirs from the 1920's]

My philosophy on The Ramones is much like my philosophy on Nirvana: They were amazing bands. If you're listening to their music, that's cool, but if you're trying to be them, you're going to fail harder than I'm currently failing at coming up with an appropriate simile.

I agree with you completely that one should not try to be them, but when I am rocking in my bedroom I might strum a couple Ramones tunes and the next minute drop my guitar to B and get down with some fuzzzzzzzzzy DOOOOOM!!
