Think shoegoo will work on torn speakers?
I heard you can use silicon to fix torn speakers (or any adhesive) as long as it allows slight give/movement is this true? I have an 80's Yamaha SS amp that has surprisingly good cleans (comparable to a JC) but both speakers are torn.

Ok punks, it works....They were 3/4 of the cone was tore on both speakers, far more than expected, but I gooped them up (as little as I could with the silicon/rubber shoe goo) and they are sounds normal again, maybe a little more muddy due to the extra weight as I couldnt get the goo as thin as I wanted.

yah, tissue and elmer's is the best method. less weight to slow down your speakers, but hell, if the goo works - go at it!

when i punched a hole in one of my Twin's cones back in the 70s with a tuner i stuck it back together with clear nail polish and it worked just fine...in fact, it's still together today though the paper surrounds at the edges of the cones have deteriorated and have to be replaced, which i assume means a total recone.

I've used the nail polish very successfully myself.
I even had a buddy glob wood glue along a rip and leave it all sloppy and bubbly. It looked like ass but worked just fine...

Special low-frequency version.
